• It had been two months before Vanessa chose to pay a visit with S.H.I.E.L.D, her fellow teammates however were on a trip on the other side of the world and would probably be back in a month or two, "welcome back Vanessa", Director Fury says as he sat down in his chair, "I wanted to pay a visit but it seems everyone's either gone or on vacation...", she says, the only people on the helicarrier were the agents and Fury, well that's what she thought anyway, "well don't dwell on the matter too much, matter of fact you came just in time for a specific mission", as if he said the magic words her eyes began to glisten but stopped in a split second, "uh, mission?".

    Vanessa sat down in the passenger seat, with arms crossed, "so this your first time going to Prison 42?", Bob asked her, with a a sigh she answers him, "yeah...", she looks out the window as the clouds pass by below them, "so where are we heading Bob?", the jet begins to lower, until they were low enough to see what was below them, "Rykers Island", he says before lowering the jet even more.

    As Bob and Vanessa enter Rykers prison she could already feel the numerous eyes set on her and it got her nervous... real nervous. "Don't worry this isn't enev much compared to where we're going", Bob tells her before hitting a switch, causing a light to flash, "bwah!" before she even had time to make the slightest move she and Bob had already made it on Prison 42, "huh? Wuh?! Bob?", he wasn't there with her, "but I thought- -!!", he a quick second blinding lights flashed on her and then came the guards, "welcome to Prison 42, you must be Vanessa Johnson", the man says, "yeah, I was sent here to fill in a spot", the man gazed at her with eyes that could look deep within a persons soul, "correct, but I'm not quiet sure why Fury sent a child such as yourself to do a job like this", Vanessa clenched her fists, "for your information I can handle this job as well as anyone here", she was going to continue but felt that that would be enough. He stared her down before smiling widely, "good! See to it she gets her uniform and a tore through out Prison 42", Vanessa squints her eyes, "wait, aren't you going to put me though drills, and all that good stuff?", she asked, the man paused, "no, not at all, I have trust that Fury chose a good candidate to fill in", his smile widens a bit more, "how ever if you make one move out of place... I will not hesitate to throw you out into the negative zone", Vanessa felt a terrible shiver rush down her spine, this guy was not someone she wanted to piss off, "well I'll see you in 0100 hours".

    "It's a bit tight don't you think?", Vanessa said while walking along with Casey, a female guard, "don't worry you'll get used to it", she says while stopping in front of heavily guarded door, she typed in the code and the door opens, "don't you ever worry about people trying to get in?", Vanessa asked Casey, she snickers before speaking, "no, well it could happen but I highly doubt it, the codes to every door change every ten minutes, security cameras are placed in places you wouldn't expect, and guards are in everyone hall ready to take action if need be", the door opens revealing a blinding light causing Vanessa to lift her hand in front of her eyes, "don't worry you'll get used to that too", Vanessa turns her head, "says the one with sunglasses", Casey grins and the two head in. "This is one of the many halls that contain the prisoners", as they walk down the hall eyes were set on them, "I can't help but feel small...", Vanessa comments as one prisoner slams his fist into the barrier containing him, causing her to jump back, "hey! Calm down he wont be breaking out of that anytime soon", Casey says before going ahead, Vanessa watched the prisoner grin and back up, "you coming?", Casey asked, "y-yeah, I'm coming", Vanessa walk runs until she caught up with Casey, "if you think this is bad wait until you see the wrest".

    Finally Vanessa finished the tour however what Casey told her wasn't much of a happy ending, "you're on duty until our guy comes back", Casey hands Vanessa a gun but she hesitates to take it, "don't worry you'll only use it when something extreme happens, but like I said before I doubt it", she pats Vanessa on the back, but even that didn't ease her, "remember what I told you Vanessa, don't let them get inside your head, that's the worst possible thing that could happen", she taps on the doors button, "one of which is very good for doing that but he's mellowed down", the door opens and Vanessa walks in, "wait...what prisoner?", as the doors were about to close Casey stared at her, "Loki".

    Most of the prisoners were either bound with chains or roamed freely in their cells either way it still bothered her. "So this must be the floor where all the higher level guys stay... nice...", she sighed deeply before coming across someone at the very end of the hall, "so this must be him...", he didn't seem so tough, more like depressed and gloomy, his black hair draped over his face only hinting at the slightest of facial features, she felt... sorry for him, "mortal...", Vanessa flinched, was he talking to her? she did a few turns and then pointed at herself, "me?", he made no gesture to indicate that he was talking to her, or was he just talking to himself, either way Vanessa walked up to the barrier that held him inside his cell, "y-yeah, what is it?", she watched him as he turned his head ever so slowly in her direction, "do you, fear me?", a small smile etched itself upon his pale face, and that was enough to make her shiver, "what kind of question is that? I don't fear you, just face it, locked up in this cell you're basically like everyone else here, weak and powerless", she wanted to face palm herself but it was already said and done. Loki's smile fades as he gets up from his chair, "how dare a mortal like you speak down to me", he was now near the barrier, "do you know who I am?", she wanted to speak but her words were caught in her throat, "do you know who I am?!!", his loud outburst caused her to step back, Loki noticed this and smiled, hands now up in a way that said he wasn't going to harm her... no sh!t, but she turned around and walked away, her heart beating a million miles per second, she feared him.

    "Wake up, it's breakfast time!", Gorden had a cart full of food and one by one he would serve them all and Vanessa guarded him, making sure that no one would harm him or think of escaping, "and they eat this stuff?", Vanessa asked, "yeah, but you know they don't have to, but starvation isn't the most pleasant thing anyone would want to experience", their conversation lasted until they came to the end of the hall, "wait, cant he use his powers?", Gorden grins, "no the cell has a null effect so this guy or anyone else that comes in here have no chance of using any of their powers", and that meant her as well, at least she had the gun. The barrier holding Loki inside vanishes and the two head in, the barrier appears again, holding them in with Loki, "yes, I remember you know girl", Gorden exchanged eye contact with the two, "you two know each other?", Gorden asked either of them mainly at Vanessa, "well who wouldn't he tried to take over the world, luckily he was stopped", she was kind of flattered that someone such as Loki would remember their first encounter, "well it doesn't matter", Gorden says as he placed the tray of food on the table, Vanessa stared at him to only notice fresh bruises on his forehead and cheek, she wanted to say something but Gorden was already heading out of the room, "come on Vanessa, I have more food to pass out", she nods her head and hurried out of the cell, the barrier closes and the two head for the next section, but what happened next caught them both by surprise.

    "Gorden!!!", Vanessa watched in horror as the man she was supposed to protect from danger was killed right before her eyes, "it's been a while... since I killed a man", he tossed Gorden's limp body her way and she caught him. The prisoner named Pagan turns around to face her, his crimson red eyes set on her, "is this what they call guards, you're just a child", Vanessa closed her eyes before placing Gorden to the side and as she did alarms began to blare, "out of my way!!", Pagan charged at her with full intent to kill, "AAHH!", she yelled, Vanessa came in with a powerful punch to the gut, "uuhg... ehehe, is that all girl?! let me show you what real power is!", Pagan brought his arms up, clasped his hands together and slammed them on Vanessa's back sending her into the ground, "don't pass out on me now I'm not done yet!", Pagan picks her up by the head, "nhg...", he lifts her up high and then brought her down head first, "guuh!", the hit to the head caused her to black out for a second and as she came to that's when she bit his massive hand, "GRAH!", Pagan tossed her to the side and she hits the wall, "you little- -?!", in a split second his right arm detached itself and fell right onto the ground in a bloody mess, "AAAHH!!", Vanessa let her arm fall onto the ground, blood began to drip from her nose and probably her head, "she's over there!", she closed her eyes slightly, the main Calvary came with guns fired, "Vanessa! Vanessa, are you okay?", it was Casey, "you'll be okay hang on...".

    The advanced technology helped Vanessa recover slightly, but all she could think about was Gorden, she found out that he was okay, he had a couple of broken ribs and a concussion, "don't blame yourself, you did your best", Casey says while the two walk down the hall, "why do you keep saying that when you know I didn't", Vanessa let out a shaken sigh, "we are only humans and we all make mistakes, we're not perfect", Casey types in the code, "but in the long run we learn from our mistakes and correct them", the barrier vanishes and the two walk into the cell.

    Casey placed adamantuim cuffs on Loki while Vanessa placed the mouth block on his mouth, she looks at him preferably his forehead and slightly touched it, Loki turned his head not wanting her to do what she just did, "this is your lucky day, Laufeyson, you get to "testify" today", she grins, "but I doubt you'll be able to get anyone on your side", she straps the stray jacket on so tight that Vanessa could hear him groan in pain, "Casey, isn't that too far, come on", Casey turns her head and stared at Vanessa, "yeah, you're right I'm being too rough", she pats Loki's shoulder and took his arm while Vanessa took the other.

    "You've tried not once, but multiple times to destroy our world, and you went to extreme lengths to do it", the judge says, "why should I let you even live let alone stand amongst us? explain yourself Loki Laufeyson", Vanessa stood beside Loki as well as Casey, she could see familiar faces one of which was Thor, "please take off the mouth piece", the judge says, Vanessa takes the key from her waist and unlocked the mouth piece before taking it off, "now please, speak", there was a pause in silence, "it amuses me that such garbage stands before me", well that was not what everyone was expecting, "do you think I care about the destruction midgard?", Loki looks the judge dead in the eyes, "think again", people from the back begin to semi stand up, they were getting riled up, "I'll do it again, and again... and again", the judge slams his gavel down multiple times, "enough, ENOUGH! Get him out of my sight!", Loki smiles, his gaze directed at his brother, "haha, is this what you like to see brother", guards begin to drag him out, "right brother!!", Vanessa turns her head away from the scene...

    "He has three days until he's no more", a guard says as Vanessa passes them by to visit Loki's cell as she went further down she could hear someone arguing and as she turned the corner she found out that it was Thor, "why can't you see that I'm only trying to help you Loki? you are my brother, my family", Loki chuckled before standing up and walking towards the barrier, "I don't need your help, brother", within Loki's eyes held a hatred only aimed at his brother, "uh...", the two broke eye contact and looked her way, Thor turns back to Loki, "we will discuss this later brother", he turns around and walked down the hall until he passed her by, his red cape brushing her shoulder. Vanessa walks up to the barrier where she saw Loki standing, "I apologize for interrupting anything important", she says, Loki turns around, "no, there was nothing worth talking about", Vanessa watched him begin to gather frustration little by little, "uh, I heard that you know magic...", she rolls her eyes, that was a stupid thing to say but it got his attention none the less, "know magic?", he scoffed, "of course I know magic girl, it runs in my veins", she placed her hands on her hips, "would you be willing to show me some basic skills?", Loki's eyebrow raised, "it would take months, years to master a spell... you're incapable of doing such a task", Vanessa crossed her arms, "give me a simple one...", she rubs her neck, "please?", Loki looks away from her at a male guard coming their way, "fine, if it will shut you up", he analyzed the man, "turn around, there's a guard coming your way", Vanessa turns around and spots the guard, "now listen carefully, I want you to put him to sleep, using the spell quell", Loki says, "concentrate", Vanessa clenched her fists, closed her eyes for a second or two before saying the word, "quell!", the guard looks at her, confused, "what the hel- -???", he dropped, causing Vanessa to panic, "huh?!", she turns to face Loki, "huh?!!", a wide grin was placed on his face, this made her think that maybe that spell wasn't what it seemed, "Loki?!", he let out a laugh that made her flinch, "it seems as though I have a prodigy", his voice returned to its smooth tone once again, "prodigy? what? Loki tell me if he's dead or not!!", he rolled his eyes, "he's alive, you put him to sleep didn't you?", Vanessa turns her head and saw that the man was snoring, "oh... ahaha...", this caused her to gasp, "I actually did it!", she turns to face Loki, "don't get too excited, you'll- - Vanessa!!", she fainted and collapsed onto the ground, "damn it".

    Three days passed, Vanessa and Casey escorted Loki to the teleporter where he was then brought to the supreme court to be judged, "he's done for", Casey says, Vanessa just clasped her hands together, hoping that it wouldn't come to this.

    "The verdict is in", there is silence until the main judge spoke up, "we sentence you, Loki Laufeyson to death", cheers were heard in the back ground as it was called, as the guards were coming to take him away Vanessa jumps over the desk with out even giving what she was doing a second thought, but it was already in motion, "hey! Stay ba- -?! Uhg!", Vanessa uppercuts the guard in the chin, sending him back, she removes her katana from her back and sliced the restraints off of Loki's arms, legs, and mouth, all in one swift move", the bad thing about this was that this was all live.

    People begin to scream and run out of the court room along with the judges, "I can feel my powers once more", he clenched and unclenched his fists, "LOKI!!", it was Thor coming straight for him, "times up", Loki says before creating a pathway leading to god knows where and Vanessa had no other choice but to go with him and as soon as the two enter the portal vanishes.

    Passing out multiple times during their travel until they both finally make it to Asgard.

    Vanessa wakes up, "it was just a dream, just a horrible dream", she smiles softly before getting up from her bed and walking towards the door, that's when she noticed how different her room had become, and the over sized window with a view of a castle, "....", Vanessa runs towards the window, "huuuuh?!!!", she placed her hands on her head, the door opens abruptly, "why are you screaming?!", it was Loki, she turns around and points her finger at him, "where the hell am I?", Loki placed his book on a chair, "we're in Asgard home of the gods", she could tell that he was aggravated just by the tone in his voice, "I can't believe this, I can't believe this!", she paced back and forth, "I helped you of all people escape, oh no, ooh no~", Vanessa makes her way over towards the bed, "why me?", she sighed deeply, "why me...", she groans, everything was so wrong. Loki stood by the door not really interested in her problems at the moment, "are you done?", he asked her, she turns her head to look at him, "done? I'm far from it bub!", she gets up and makes her way towards him, "if you think I'm some sort of chess piece in your plot to take over the "world" then you have another think coming!", she crossed her arms and frowns, "your complaining has little to no meaning, you are worth nothing in my eyes, I could end your life right here and now if need be, but I wont", he turns around, his back now facing her, he walks toward the door but before he left he spoke, "if you need anything, tell me...", he leaves the room, shutting the door behind him, Vanessa walks over to the bed and sits on it, "what's going to happen now?"
