• Col pulled me down to the cellar just in time for the great hall to completely collapse and crush us! We paused to catch our breath, and all the while Col was checking to make sure I didn’t have any major injuries!

“I hope ___ is ok!” I said, hoping my childhood friend whom I was to be married to in 3 weeks wasn’t dead!

“Indeed.” Replied Col, who was also ___’s great friend! “But with the entire hall turned to ruins there is no way we can be sure anyone who was still there is ok! What was ___ thinking?” The sound of her name, made my eyes burn! Anger was building up inside of me, something that I’ve never had much experience feeling! It made my head pound and my entire body heat up, with severe pain.

“Your highness, what’s wrong!” Cried Col as he caught me from almost passing out from pain and tears! I could barely talk (or see for that matter), because my mouth had caught many tears that had fallen that wrong way!

“I can’t believe anyone would do this to my parents! My father was the only one left after my mother disappeared, and now it’s just me. And if I don’t find the lost prince in 3 weeks before the wedding…”

Col listened probably not very well considering I was sobbing as I spoke! He closed his eyes and held back tears of his own. Had I made him remember something?

“No, your not alone Blain.” I heard his voice waver, barely making any sound! He breathed in heavily and stood, me still holding on to him! He smiled softly and wiped the tears from my face. “We’ll find this lost prince, and your parents, together, even if it takes a whole 3 weeks!” I was over whelmed. Not only had I never seen Col like this before but I never knew he would ever help me! Yes to find my parents, but to help find the lost prince, something he though was a rumor, an untruthful version of the prince’s death? I was shocked!

“Oh thank goodness, you’re ok!” We looked towards a familiar face! Gracelle hadn’t been in the great hall, so when it was destroyed she had not been crushed. I was thankful that one of my best friends was ok. “I heard about what the duchess said” She cooed sorrowfully to us. The sorrowful look quickly changed into that creepy, knowing smile that I had grew up with, meaning she had something good on her mind, “So you’ll be glad to know that we have been preparing something very good at the north lab!” She started to pull us away from the cellar, through the secrete door that lead outside!

“How could this have happened? Using the clone was a positively perfect plan, and yet your imbeciles had to ruin everything as usual!” ___ screamed at the two men. One was taller and thinner while the other was shorter and rounded, the typical minions. “Not only have you ruined the plan, let the princess and the boy escape, but you’ve also injured my son!” I was barely awake but I could still clearly hear everything that was going on. I couldn’t let my mother know I was listening, or there would be trouble beyond compare.

“Oh, my poor baby! This will not happen again!” She screamed. I was still lying on the floor, but I was in the hallway outside the bedrooms.

“But malady,” started the round one, “How will we overrule the kingdom if the princess and the lil’pri-“

“SHHHHH! We don’t want the whole kingdom listening do we?” freaked my mother. “Anyways I did have a plan B! A goose chase should do the trick! Now that “princess” Blain knows our little secrete, I sent her to find the lost prince that she had originally been betrothed to. But she’ll never know what a fool she is, and in 3 weeks, she will be forced to marry my son! Then we can kidnap the princess and hide her away! Then and only then will my son be King of the Rivenal Kingdom!”

I couldn’t believe my ears! How could my mother do this? Not only was she going to hurt my best friends, but she would give up my love for Jessica, just so she could rule the kingdom with me in the throne! I knew I would have to escape, but how!

“Now men, Carry my boy to his sleeping chambers. I’ll be back with some water and food!” Mother explained.

“Food?” The creepy minions asked longful for something besides scrapes. Mother underfeeds them a little too often.

“Not for you, you little idiots! For my blessid son who is hurt form the mess you created!” She huffed, as she turned and travelled down to the kitchen.
