Closing my eyes I took a deep breath. I would be fine. I was attached to a rope and Brent was with me.
“You ready?” Brent asked, blue eyes searching my face.
“Yeah…you know it.” I answered hesitantly.
“Kay, hold on tight and don’t worry, I got ya.”
Body tensing, heart racing, we lurched into open air and fell.
“Oh my God!” Screaming at the top of my lungs we continued our rapid decent to earth until at the last minute hurtling back into the air. We went back and forth on the end of the bungee until finally settling near the bottom, a few feet from water. Finally my torture was over.
Hanging upside down I grasped Brent. We’d made it and the rope hadn’t snapped or anything. Still in shock I felt Brent grip the back of my head and force me to look at him.
“Baby, I’m so proud of you. See, you didn’t die and you faced your fear.”
Leaning in he kissed me, a nice way to reassure me.
“So you ready to go again?”
“Hell no! Once is enough for this lifetime thank you.” I said very seriously but I gave him a smile.
“Fine, but our next adventure is sky diving.”
“Are you trying to kill my poor heart?”
“No, only strengthen it.” He answered jokingly.
“I’m soooo not promising you on that one.”
“Kay, just think on it then. So on three I’m going to detach us. One…Two…”
I let out a small yelp as we unexpectedly skipped three and fell into the water.
