• Rapture, a city underwater, a paradise for those like me who wished to be freed from government and prejudice. A place where we could do as we please without having the fruit of our minds censored and criticized by those who wanted to keep our minds closed for fear of immorality. I, Maria O'Konnel, came here because I wanted to learn, and express what I had learned through my words. Not the words of a puppet of the editors, my words. The people of Rapture were moved by my narratives about the horrors of the world we had escaped. Little did I know that new horrors had sprung from the earth's womb, choking our paradise until it became a living Hell.

I look back now on the day when light penetrated the sea, giving new hope to Rapture.

    I remember it well...
