• Into the growing darkness she fled. Fled from what she had once thought was safety, a sanctuary, a home. Beside her ran two others. A boy by the name of Matthias, whom she had formed a quick friendship and a girl by the name of Courtney, who wasnt exactly well liked by the other two. But under these circumstances you cannot choose who to be with. Just then from behind them, coming from the direction of the dimming lights of the institution, came the wail of a siren.
    How? Brittany thought We had just escaped. She increased in speed and changed coarse.
    The other two, though surprised, followed her lead. Ahead of them now was the woods, what to Brittany was once a symbol of fear. Now a symbol of hope, of safety; a true sanctuary. As the three began to crash through the brush, the sky let out a roar of thunder and rain began to fall. The sirens could still be heard in the distance.
    "Hurry" Brittany shouted back to the others.
    "I'm going as fast as i can" Courtney snapped back.
    Just then the sound of a helicopter's blades grew near.
    ''Get down" Matthias shouted. The three jumped into the mud covered ground just as a spotlight shined between the leaves.
    "They're looking for us" Courtneys voice said.
    "Of coarse they are" Brittany said
    The light moved on. Brittany immediately got up and began to walk toward a tree that lay against another creating a small area of dry ground beneath it.
    "We'll have to sleep here tonight" she said
    "What?! You mean no bed?" Courtney said
    "Sorry princess" Matthias said sarcastically "Did you expect hotels. Well we are running for our lives here. If you want to you can go back, get feed, a nice shower, and a bed."
    "But they might-" she said
    "Kill you? yeah." he said "so be happy."
    "Well," Brittany said "Whose going to be on gaurd duty"
