• The tunnel started construction in 2009, when a 13 year old boy named Vincent Reynaud, had a dream of seeing his girlfriend Amber Mason again after being separated. The hole was to connect their houses and branch off into other areas of the country where only a select few people knew of the tunnels existence. The NYC Erie quadrant of the tunnel was made; stocked with food, and workable kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms lined the walls of the main tunnel in deep alcoves. The quadrant would be able to support at least 20 people for 20 years. The main reason for the building of this gigantic hole was because on December 21st of 2012 aliens were going to attack Earth. Amber had picked 3 of her best friends; Lydia Jenks, Samantha Gago, and Irene Bayborne to live in the hole with a guy of their choice. Samantha or as her friends called her Sam, insisted on bringing her little sister Miranda with her. Miranda was 5 at the time of the holes completion. Lydia and Amber decided to bring their cats Logan and Bosco with them as well. Amber, Lydia, Sam, and Irene, would meet at Amber's grandmothers house 2 times a week to check for the holes entrance in the backyard. In the summer of 2010 Amber would sit out in a lawn chair at night and wait for her long distance lover to pop out of the ground and take her to safety. 2011 rolled around and word spread to Amber and her friends that the aliens were going to spare the population of Rhode Island. Nobody believed this rumor but you, the reader must read on to see what happens. The tunnel was finished in January of 2011. All that was still needed in the hole were peoples clothing and the people themselves. So this story starts here, on cold January the 21st, at around 5:15 am in Amber Mason's bedroom.

Amber Mason, still 14 years old slept soundly home-alone at her grandmothers house. Tears still stained her face from her crying in despair that her love had forgotten her. She was so sound asleep that she didn't her the person coming in through the back door, searching the rooms.
Vincent Reynaud, 15 and athletically built searched the house. Where was she? He walked into an upstairs bedroom and there she lay. Like a Sleeping Beauty out of her fairytale, the moon shown through her window and lit up her already pale face. He saw the puffy red spots on her cheeks. He sighed. She had been crying again.
He silently took off his sneakers and climbed up the bed and laid himself next to Amber. He watched her. Taking in all her features as if he had spent an eternity without her. She looked completely different. Her hair was shorter. Shoulder length. just long enough to keep the back of her neck warm in the winter time. He took a lock of the hair in between his fingers. After a couple of seconds he let it fall back into place and he wrapped his arms around her. She uttered a small sound and Vincent had thought he had awaken her. Instead she seemed to huddle closer to him, as if she was afraid of something.
She was cold to the touch. No wonder why she tried to get close to him. she was cold. He kissed her cheek. He had missed her so much. He wasn't going to let her go again. He shifted and bumped into Amber a bit to hard. She awoke with a start and grabbed her pillow for protection. Amber scrambled out of bed. "Who's there?" She asked wildly looking around for someone she couldn't see. Vincent stifled his laughter. She couldn't see him. It was still too dark. He got up and hugged her tight enough that she couldn't get away. As she struggled he whispered in her ear," It's me. The one that you cry over every night."
Amber stopped pounding on his chest immediately. She clung to him like there was nothing in the world that she would ever want to do more. "You're really here? I'm not dreaming?" She asked through sniffles. "It's okay. I'm not going anywhere." He picked her up and laid her back in her bed. "Go back to sleep. You look like you need it. I have to go back to our tunnel." Amber's eyes grew wide. "No you're not leaving me. Please I'm begging you." Vincent sighed. "Lets go then."
He picked her up honeymoon style so she wouldn't get frost bitten toes. He headed outside and set her on a clear are where no snow had been able to reach. "I don't see an entrance." Amber said squinting at the ground of the backyard. "Good," Vince said. "That means I hid it well enough." He put his fingers into 2 holes opposite to each other in the ground and pulled up. The entrance was a 6 and a half foot drop off. Amber was watching her boyfriend in amazement. One second he was there, she blinked, and he was gone. She let out a whimper. "It's ok babe. I'm fine." She heard the voice call from the black hole in the ground.
She crawled over to the edge of the hole and let her feet dangle. "I can't see you." She said. "I can see you. And you look beautiful." He replied. Amber blushed. "Come down. I'll catch you." She grew nervous and shook her head. "I'm afraid." Vincent chuckled. "Its only a 6 and a half foot drop. It'll be over before you know it." "You'll catch me?" She asked. "You turst me don't you Amber?" Amber closed her eyes and slid of the edge giving herself into the darkness of the hole.
