• There is a house on the Main Boulevard in New York.
There is a girl walking the streets tonight, in hopes for her daily customer.
There is a father out at a bar, wasted away by the vodka in the glass cuo he clutches ever so tightly.
There is a mother out away spending a jolly good time at her new boyfriend’s house, and doesn’t tell anyone.
There is a child. A little baby boy, not more that 5 years old, sleeping away, waiting, hoping, that the day will come, for he wishes for a day of joy and comfort, given by a certain jolly, fat man.
There Is a family. They live in a house on Main Boulevard in New York.
They have a daughter. She walks the streets each night without anyone knowing.
They have a father. An alcoholic who practically lives in the bar.
They have a mother. One who cheats over and over again, on a 23 year old blond boy without letting anyone know.
They have a son. The most innocent little soul you’ll ever lay your eyes on. He sits threw it all. Watching the constant fights, abuse, and curse words. Barley ever able to sleep.
    But…..
But on THIS night, he sleeps in peace. No loud noises, no yelling, and nothing breaking that would keep him from sleeping. On This night, he is alone in the house, awaiting for the one man he barely knows to bring him what he wants. This boy, he does not, nor will he ever know that he was, left alone in the house.
The house on the Main Boulevard.
The house were the stockings are hung carelessly on the cigar plate. (For loss of a fire place)
The house that smells of liquor and smoke.
The house no one dares to visit.
On this night, the house is silent.
This night is December 24th, 1987. Christmas Eve.

Do you feel happy for the things you have received?
If not, imagine what the little boy would feel when, in the morning, his dad comes home wasted and destroys all the presents under the makeshift tree. Imagine, the way he felt when his mom comes home with the 23 year old boy, not knowing the father is home.
Imagine the way he felt if his sister never came home that night.
    Merry Christmas.
