• One day in the misty spring of April 2009, the students of Linda Lee High School walked down the stone path to the school. Spring break ended and everyone was glad to see each other again. When you walked down the path everyone was on, you would pass a statue of a woman with wings and a small child. Some people say that statue is the key to eternal happiness, some people say it is a symbol of what the angle, Linda Lee, would do at the school grounds, which was help the small kids that lived there before the school was built. When the school bell rang, all the students began to quicken their pace to make sure that they weren’t late for homeroom. Everyone was on the school grounds, everyone accept Ashley Burn. Ashley had overslept and began to sprint to school.
“This town sure has a lot of traffic.” She said to herself as she crossed the crosswalk at the main road, “I can’t be late for my first day of my new school!” She said to herself as she climbed the stairs to the school. Ashley had moved here before spring break ended. She had moved from Florida to the small town of Boston, Massachusetts. When Ashley ran into her homeroom, the bell just rang and the whole class stared at her.
“Welcome Miss. Burn.” The teacher said. “I’m Mr. Andrew, but you can call me Mr. A.” He smiled and looked at the class. Ashley could feel her heart thumping from her mile run to school. She then looked at the class and looked for a place to sit.
“Umm, Mr. A, where can I sit?” She asked in a soft tone. Mr. A looked among the students for a empty seat. Lucky for Ashley, there was a seat available near the window between two guys.
“Ah, you may sit between Brad and Austin near the windows.” He smiled and Ashley walked to her seat. When she got there, the boy behind her, Austin, Began to stare at her. Ashley blushed and sat down in her seat. Brad turned around and looked at Ashley.
“Hi there.” He said with a soft voice, “I’m Brad Andrew, the teachers son.” Ashley froze when he said that he was the teachers son. He was actually kinda cute.
“Hi, it's very nice to meet you.” Ashley then smiled. “Your father must be a good teacher.” Ashley said. Brad laughed.
“He's a good teacher and an annoying father.” He chuckled and turned back around to face the front of the room. While Ashley was looking at the front of the room, the kid behind her, Austin, was looking directly at her.
“Wow,” he thought to himself, “she is really cute.” He then began to think about what it would be like to date Ashley. He chuckled at the thought because he knew that no one would want to date him, the anti social goth kid. Ashley turned around and looked at Austin.
“Hi. I never really got to introduce myself to you, I;m Ashley Burn.” She said and smiled. Austin smiled back.

“I'm Austin, Austin Buck.” He said and held out his hand. Ashley shook his hand and began to think to herself.
“He seems like a nice person.” She said and looked at his wrists, they were cut up a bit. Her eyes grew wide and she froze. Austin looked at her.
“What?” He asked and poked her forehead. Ashley then shook her head.
“You're emo?” She asked in a low whisper. Austin chuckled a bit.
“I really need to be wearing long sleeves now.” He said and sighed. “Yes, I am...” He said and hid his wrists. Ashley stood still and went blank. (weird wind blows and knocks Ashley over) Mr. A ran over to Ashley and felt her head.
“What happened Austin?!” He asked him. Austin shrugged and looked at Ashley.
“She just fell and went boom.” He said and took out a piece of paper to draw on. Mr. A ran out of the room and left his son in charge of the class until he got back.

    10 MINUTES LATER:

Ashley was laying down in the bed in the nurses office with Austin at her side. He sighed and looked out the window in the court yard. People were walking around and passing the statue to go to their next class of the day. He then looked back at Ashley and smiled.
“She sure is pretty.” He said to himself. When he said that, she woke up, confused and tired. She looked around and looked at Austin.
“W-Where am I?” She asked him. Austin sighed.
“You're in the nurses office, you feinted because of what you saw on me.” He then stood up. “You need to rest, I have to go back to class.” Austin walked out the door and left Ashley in the nurses office, alone. Ashley sighed and looked outside, it looked like it was about to rain soon.
“This school sure is mysterious.” She said to herself. When she felt better, she took her things and the nurse gave her a hall pass and a pass for gym so she wouldn't feint again if she ran. Ashley walked through the empty halls, looking for her 3rd period room, Math 201. When she reached the 2nd floor, she noticed that room 201 was right next to her. She walked in and the class stared at her.
“Welcome to class, what's your name?” The teacher asked her. Ashley looked around the room and saw all the staring eyes, looking at her.
“I'm Ashley, Ashley Burn.” The teacher then looked at her seating list. She then looked amongst the many students in the class.
“You sit next to Mr. King in the back.” She said and gave her some papers. Ashley walked to where Mr. King was sitting and sat down next to him.
“Hi. I'm Sean King.” He said in a low whisper. Ashley smiled.
“I'm Ashley, Ashley Burn.” She then directed her attention to the front of the room where the teacher was.

“Hello everyone. My name is Mrs. Karen, I will be your math teacher for the year.” She said and began to write on the board. Ashley took out her mechanical pencil and began to copy the notes on her paper. She then looked around the class and observed the kids in the room. When Ashley turned her head to the right, she saw a figure glowing in the seat next to her. Her eyes grew wide as the figure spread wings and flew through the ceiling. Sean looked at Ashley with a weird expression on his face.
“Something wrong Ashley?” He asked. “By the look on your face, it seems like you seen a ghost.” Ashley shook her head and smiled a crooked smile.
“I-It's nothing, I just saw a fly, a BIG fly!” She said and began to doodle on her page. When the period ended, she finished her doodle, more like a drawing covering the whole half of her paper. The drawing was the person that Ashley saw next to her with the wings. She was walking to 4th period when she passed the statue and saw the resemblance. She then ran to the school principal to tell her the news. But when she got to her office, she wasn't there and neither was the vice principal. Ashley then ran to the main desk.
“Where is the principal and the vice principal?!” She asked the woman at the front desk. The old woman looked at Ashley.
“They went to a special meeting in the conference room on the other side of the campus.” She said and returned to her work at the front desk. Ashley then looked at the map of the school and looked for the conference room. She then noticed that the conference room was 10 minutes away from where she was now. Ashley grunted and ran out of the office and went outside to the statue. She sighed and sat on one of the benches in front of it. When she looked down at her drawing, She noticed that Austin was standing in front of her looking down on her.
