A lone bee buzzed around my head and I lazily swatted it with my hand. It flew away and zigzagged it’s way around the sunflowers that were towering over me like a bright yellow giant. Slowly opening my eyes, light quickly washed into them and I flinched against the bright colours. Sitting up and crossing my legs underneath me I warily looked over my shoulder towards the little brown house on the hill that was once my home. I was amazed that such a beautiful and peaceful place could have such an angry and sad past.
Standing up I turned towards it and started to make my way through the flowers and towards the house. It took me half an hour to manage to get to the front door. Looking around me I found that I was standing on the front veranda where my mother used to sit me on her lap and we would watch the world go by us. I could still see the chair we she sat on. It was a brown rocking chair, now covered in dust. I looked over to the dor and stared at the rusty, old and dusty, bronze doorknob.
Holding my breath I firmly clasped the doorknob and turned. It was locked, it didn’t even budge an inch. Letting my frustration get the better of me I punched the door and it banged open against the wall in a cloud of dust.
