- “Why do you have to leave?” she asked him, resting her head on his shoulder. She already knew the answer but she was hoping that he would tell her that he would stay. She looked at their tightly held together hands. He gazed off into the sky. “I told you, I have to say my final goodbyes to my mother.” She felt tears well up in her eyes. “I’m going to miss you.” She promised him. He looked down at her and smiled softly. “You know I’m crazy about you, don’t you?” She looked up and smiled back at him. “I’m crazy about you too…I like you a lot.” She looked back down at their hands trying to hide her sadness from him, but he saw her pain. He asked her in his sweet, calm voice that she loves so much, “Do you love me, or are we just saying like?” “I love you.” She said automatically. Suddenly she realized what she said and quickly looked up to see his reaction. She saw a tear roll down his cheek “I love you too.” She couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. She tightly wrapped her arms around him never wanting to let go. And he did the same to her. They sat on the roof of her parents’ house holding each other for hours. The next morning he’ll be on a plain to Seattle Washington. And she’ll be sitting at home waiting for him to come back home.

- There should have been a new paragraph every time a character spoke. The writing was succint, but not in such a way as to be pleasing; the sentence structures were unvaried. Any description was a list of adjectives. I felt no sympathy for the characters; I thought the female was whiny, and the male was entirely unrealistic.
