• Long ago.... In the land of Hyrule, deep in the Kokiri Forest, there sat a large tree. You may call him the Great Deku Tree. He was very old and wise, and some say he was among the first to be created when the Golden Goddesses themselves came. In his time, he helped Man make the first stone bridge, created fire for them from his own branches. He was seen as a guardian to the Kokiri children and a forefather. As good as he seemed, he had a secret. He had a son.
    Unlike his father, this boy was very mischevious and caused trouble wherever he went. He angered many people, and had been punished very much. But then he saw a strange man. He was tall and had red hair, much darker and unfriendlier than the Kokiri children. He had come to torture the Great Deku Tree, the son had heard from his hiding spot in one of the children's houses. He then decided to have fun with him, and led the man into the Lost Woods, saying his father was in there. Soon they reached a clearing, then something happened very fast. As soon as the boy tried to ditch the man he saw him at the entrance, looking malicious. He asked what the boy was doing, trying to leave him like that. The boy tried to lie his way out, but the man soon caught on. Furious at being tricked, he cast some spell on the boy that altered him fatally. He had turned him into a scarecrow with a skull-shaped head .
    The an then laughed and rode off, saying "See ya, Skull Kid!!" Laughing that evil laugh. And so he was called that every time he passed someone, always hearing that evil laugh. He could not bear the endless teasing, so he ran away to the Lost woods, Where he will stay for some time, causing endless trouble whenever he can.
