• A few hours ago my life was great. I, Alexis, was the most popular girl at my school in Lowell, michigan. I had the greatest boyfriend, but my best guy friend was really my crush. I was walking along the street of lowell looking at the shops with dresses. My prom was that night and I was searching for the perfect dress.

As I walked by the most expensive store around I saw the one. There was an orange and yellow dress on display at the window. I could see people inside so I ran to the door and pushed it open. All heads turned to me now. There were 5 men standing up with guns and 13 others laying on the floor.

I just stood there, I didn't know what to do! One of the men standing up pointed their gun at me and said "Lay down now or I shoot!". I couldn't comprehend his words fast enough. I thought to myself "Now why would he shoot me? I just want that dress!". Before I could realize they were robbers he shot me in the chest.

A pain so tremendous rushed through my body. I fell to the ground instantly. I tried to breath but my lungs felt like they had been ripped open. I clutched my chest in instinct and tried to squeeze away the pain. I felt as cold as ice one second and as hot as a fire the next.

I realzed I was dieing. I tried to speak, but no words came out. I tried to move, but my whole body felt numb. I tried to breathe, but I couldn't. I was dead.

The pain went away immidiently. I felt as though I was being lifted. Apparently I was. My soul was reaching higher and higher into the sky intil it fell on a cloud.

Once I landed on the ball of fluff I looked down. There I could see the five men being arested and the 7 others telling the cops what had happened. The sore was surronded with cop cars, police officers, and caution tape. I lay down and started crying.

My life was over. I hadn't been able to do so many things. I didn't get to go to prom, go to college, get married, get a job, have kids, or anything like that. I was dead.

I kept running the last part through my head. I still couldn't beleive it! As I was trying to comprehend the fact that i WAS dead, I sat up and looked of the cloud.

What I saw was a graveyard. It was a sunny day and not a cloud in the sky (besides mine). There were about 300 people sitting and a few were up on a podeom to speak. I realized they were at a funeral. My funeral.

I could point out every person there. In the front I saw my family and my best friends. Farther back I saw everyone from my grade. The jocks, the populars, the geeks; I also saw my boyfriend and my crush. They were sitting near the podeom, apparently they were going to speak. Right now my principal was speaking. All of my teachers were going to speak, too.

I started crying again. I would never see any of them until they died, and I would never want them to die! This is so frusterating!!!

I was still balling my eyes out when a guy about my age walked over to me.
"You just died, huh?" he asked.
    I nodded silently.
"Come with me, we need to check you in." he said as he took my hand and led me over a rainbow pathway.

We talked for a while and I found out that is name was Ryan. He died around 100 years ago from a shipwreck. He was on Columbuses crew, but he was on a smaller ship that no one has heard about. It crashed into an ice berg like the titanic.

Ryan had sandy blonde, short hair and bright blue eyes. He wore white shorts and a white t-shirt. He also had a golden halo with gorgous wings.

"Here we are," he said, "the entry gate."

We stood in front of the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. It was a golden gate, probably half a mile high. There were hundreds of angels flying around, all wearing white. I felt silly for the first time in a long time, for I was wearing a rainbow dress with black heels.

Ryan lead me over to the gateAt the enterance there was a booth with 2 lines: one for girls and one for guys. He walked me over to the line for girls.

"I will meet you at town square, okay?" he asked.
    "Okay"

Ryan turned around, jumped up, and flew away.

It was a while until I made it to the front of the line. But when I did there was a gorgous girl filling out some papers. I walked up to her and said "Um, hi. Is this where you, uh, check-in?"

"Why yes it is dear. What is your name?" she asked in a smooth, inviting voice.
"My name is Alexis McLane." I replied, trying to sound as sophisticated as her.
"Okay, now, we need you to fill out a form. give this pass to the gaurd by the door and he will let you in. Once you are in, go to the right through the double doors and walk to section "M". Then go to the first computer that is open and fill out the form. When you complete there will be directions on what to do next." she said as she gave me a pass.
"Thank you, um, I didn't catch your name..."
"Oh, I'm terribly sorry. My name is Sheela."
"Well then, thank you Sheela." I said in the most polite tone.
"You are very welcome! I hope to see you in town sometime, Alexis. Good bye!"
    "Bye!"

I turned and walked to the gaurd. He was a tall, large man with black hair. He had a white tuxedo on and a golden tie. I gave him my pass and he quickly but quietly opened the door. As soon as I stepped inside he slammed it shut. I was in a brightly lit hallway. There were pictures of angels all around me. I walked a little until I reached the double doors. I held my breathe and pushed them open.
