• Lorraine was born August 15, 1898 into a vampire family. Her family was part of the middle class. For a long time they lived in Ireland until her family had to relocate since people were beginning to become suspicious. They moved to England where she met Alain Funicello. It took her a long time to befriend Alain, but somehow managed to. They lived in England for a very long time just moving to different parts. Eventually they moved to America. Quite a few vampires were appearing all over America so it seemed like the right place to move to. When they traveled to America Lorraine convinced Alain to come with them with the promise that she’d have plenty of people to prey on.
Lorraine had stopped growing at 18 and has looked that way since then.
A couple years before her 110 birthday, Lorraine was attacked. She was on her way home after a night of hunting and for some odd reason went into a dark ally. She was able to see easily and being a vampire she could normally sense other vampires. She didn’t sense the vampire that attacked her. She had been so close to leaving the ally and was pulled back only feet from the sidewalk. Her attacker had an evil grin and mismatched eyes; one blue and one green. Even with her night vision on she couldn’t fully see him. He sliced her angularly down her chest and opened her like a book. One of his hands clasped over her mouth to prevent her from screaming out in agony as he dug around inside her. He pulled one of her hearts out of her and begun laughing. ‘You have such a good heart for a vampire.’ He said. Lorraine was in so much pain and long since gave up screaming. For some reason the guy put her heart in a black box and tucked it into one of his pockets. Out of one of his other pockets he pulled something out. Lorraine’s vision was becoming hazy since the wound was too server to heal on her own. She felt him sewing her back up. Her eyes had been closed. When she opened her eyes she saw the guy licking her blood off his hands. ‘You have such sweet blood. I don’t think I want you to die yet.’ He bit his hand and put it to her mouth. Lorraine didn’t hesitate to drink. He left afterwards. If she lived he’d know, and if she died he’d still know. As soon as she ‘died’ they would be connected forever.
Lorraine laid there in complete agony. She fell into the darkness. She was floating above her body. She looked down at herself and if possible, gasped. The site was terrible. There was lots of blood. There was another spirit. ’I’m so scared and so very alone.’ The spirit cried out. It had to be a male. ’Once I’m back in my body,’ Loraine began to speak. She felt bad for the spirit. ’You should stay with me. Then you won’t be alone.’ The spirit seemed to glow brighter. Before the spirit could say anything else Lorraine was being pulled back down to her body. She returned to her body in less pain. Her mind felt like someone was invading it. She screamed out until she could scream no more.
Someone must have found her because when Lorraine woke up she was in the hospital. The lights were so bright compared to the darkness she could remember. She squinted against them and saw one of them moving around her in circles. ‘You.’ She said, her voice low. ‘I’m glad to see you actually followed.’ The spirit took the form of a young boy. ‘You said I could stay with you…’ Lorraine smiled. ‘For as long as you like.’ The boy smiled. ‘I’m Zero.’ ‘Pleased to meet you formally Zero. I’m Lorraine.’
After the whole incident Lorraine made a friend, but lost her heart. Lorraine felt so empty without her other heart. That guy still had it and he had a connection with her. Her parents explained to her, after she told them what happened, that when she died she was reborn with a blood connection with that guy.
The bond Lorraine had once shared with her father completely died when he heard what happened and the one with her mother grew stronger. Even after two years, Lorraine never told Alain what happened or introduced her to Zero. She feared Alain wouldn’t like her if she knew that Lorraine feared for her life every single day of her current life.
Alain had become protective of Lorraine and she couldn’t have been happier. Having Alain being protective meant their friendship was important to her in someway.
