- It was a somber evening, the streets were empty only the soft sound of the nearby river could be heard. I walked down the old cobble stone sidewalk, my legs taking me where they pleased. I didn’t need to be anywhere at the moment, I wasn’t needed by anyone. If I disappeared no one would notice that I was gone. Such thoughts were common on a night such as this one. The thick fog come in on cat feet, making me lose my way. It was for the best, maybe if I were to be lost forever in this fog I would find something to do. I pressed on, not knowing where I was going not knowing where I was being led. Then in the thick silence the sound of a saxophone broke through to my dead ears. It was a sad haunting tune, I was drawn into it like a child into a mother’s arms. I found a little bar, inside a dark depressing mood with a man sitting on a small stage. It was just him and his saxophone, I took a seat at the bar and was given a drink. The song seemed to go on forever, that sad long haunting tune that bleed all the happiness out of the room. Yet replaced it with a feeling of belonging, the song ended. I look up from my drink to see a tall fair man standing before me. His eyes were a clouded blue, I was lost in those eyes. Then he said something I didn’t understand what the words meant, with that he left. And when I came to my senses I was standing in my hotel room. With only the memory of the sound of his saxophone.

- Description: Most people may know the happy and jazzy tunes a saxophone can play. However there is a somber side to the saxophone that I love more them anything. This is what came out when I was writing and listening to such a song. Please tell me what you think.
