• The Girl:

"Rehab." Taylor whispered as she laid on her bed. She couldn't even began to understand what rehab meant. Would she ever see him again? Would she talk to him? Would he really change this time?

Taylor's thoughts sang her to sleep that night and for many more nights to come. Days came and went as she was determined to live her life and not concern herself with Mason. She had Caleb: what more could she ask for?

"Taylor, um...like I wanted to ask you...um...would you want to go with me to homecoming?" Caleb mumbled into the phone as he tried to not get caught at work.

"Oh my gosh! Really? I'd loved to! Oh my gosh! Ah! I have to call Chels! I'll call you back!!" Taylor exclaimed.

    "Ello?" Chelsea answered.
"Caleb just asked me to homecoming!" Taylor shrieked.
"Ohmigawd! I told you he would! Now we can get ready together. In fact, we can all go: you, me, Caleb, and Nick! I knew hooking you up with Nick's friend would be perfect! Double dates with my best friend!"
"I am just speechless! I am so happy! I cannot wait! I just can't! Chels, I think I'm in love with Caleb!"
"Hah! I think you are too!"

The happiness just shone off of Taylor. Her excitement could be seen by any human eye. She pushed away all thoughts of Mason and focused on homecoming. After all, it was Tuesday and the dance was Friday. There wasn't much time.

Chelsea helped Taylor find a short, form-fitting pink dress and matching Betsy Johnson shoes. Taylor helped Chelsea find a strapless, short black c**k-tail dress, and silver stilettos. The fact that Chelsea was 6-foot never stopped her from wearing heels.

The two friends each did each others hair and make-up. Chelsea's room was filled with sounds of music and giggling. Happiness and love had literally consumed the two love-struck girls as they waited for their knights to come pick them up.
"So, has Caleb kissed you?" Chels hissed.
"Noooo." Taylor said with a heavy sigh.
"You guys will kiss tonight. I'm sure of it."
    "Really?"
"Duh! I mean you look totally irresistible in that dress of yours."
"Well, I gotta say the same to you, Chels." Taylor winked in a playful manner, and Chels fell onto the floor in fits of laughter. Yet in the midst of their laughter, a car was heard pulling into the driveway.

"They're here!" They both exclaimed as they ran down the stairs in pure excitement.

    The Boy:

Mason threw his one bag into his closet and plopped onto his bed.

"I'm finally home." He whispered to himself.

He kept his eyes closed and keep his breaths long and steady. He was going to enjoy each moment of peace he had before his dad got home. Mason saw his dad as a "father" figure, but his real dad had run out on his family a while back. His mom then ended up marrying his karate teacher, who is 10 years younger than him. Mason perceived it as quite odd; but then again, he was only seven at the time so what could he say?

Mason picked up the phone and dialed Jake's number. Jake knew everything and everyone; he'd give Mason an update on the social life.

"Well, well! You're alive!" Jake exclaimed.
"But of course I am. Now come one and fill me in on what's going on." Mason chuckled.
"Alright, alright, hold on. I'm trying to figure who this guy is on Taylor's myspace."
    "What guy ?"
"The one she's been crazy about. Aha! He's the red head one! Man! His hair is red!"
"I want to know his name, not hair color."
    "Caleb."
    " Caleb ?"
"Yep. They're going to homecoming tonight, and boy does Taylor look yummy in that little pink dress of hers."
    "How do you know?"
"She sent me a picture and asked for my opinion...but hey there, Mason...does someone have feelings for my ex?"
"Uh...I was just curious. Well I gotta finished unpacking before my mom freaks. Later."

Mason sat on the edge of the bed with the phone clutched in his sweaty palm.

"I told her I loved her," he whispered, "and I still do."
