• As the elderly woman was knocked away from the house I and Mr. Jones had decided to head back to the detective lab. I entered into the car, put the keys in the ignition, turned the key, buckled myself in, and sat there. I watched out my window as the woman was being comforted by a police officer. They had loaded her into the car behind me, and that was when I left. As I began to drive off I saw another police officer begin to tell the children what had happened, and everything will become better.

"This is my job...a job of many people's sorrow...one time to find a murderer...but not this time."

When I had returned to the center they had the elderly woman in the interrogation room. I turned on the speaker to hear what her responses were. As I flicked it on the voices began to come in clearly. The woman was the one talking.

"Well, I had been gone to Ohio with the grandchildren and my son is an out of state worksman, so Olivia was home alone these past weeks."

Mr.Jones began to speak now after she had stopped.

"Ma'am, the person that was dead in the house was not your daughter-in-law."

    "What!?"

"Well the thing is she was killed last week. You see, she was the fourth victim of a loose serial killer that cannot be found."

The woman began to sob hysterically as the news was broke to her. I felt a slight bit of remorse for her as she sat there, the eyeliner running down her cheeks. I walked to the morgue to begin my research of these dead bodies, then the evidence room for the pictures and adresses of the houses.

"Ah, hello Ms. Angelou! I am guessing you are here to investigate the dead bodies, yes?"

"Absolutely correct Mr. Inez! So where is our first victim at?"

The portly fellow waddled over to the first draw, unlocked it, then pulled it out.

"Her cause of death was to gunshots to the back of head that passed through her brain and immediatly killed her. The knife wounds made it more difficult to determine what was first, the shots or the knife."

"Hhhmmmm...same gun wounds. I have a question doctor."

    "Yes?"

"Were the other victims blood around the knife wound crusty?"

"Now what? The others had wet blood around their wounds. Why do you ask?"

    "You soon will see."

He asked no more questions as he pulled out the other three bodies. I studied them over, took quick notes, and was off. As I approached the evidence room I saw another worker on the phone. By their tone I could tell they were calling last weeks victim's husband to tell him of his loss. I began to wonder why they had not checked to see if the person was married. I entered into the room full of pictures of the recent murders on the wall. I checked over the picture of the other murders to see the only pictures were of the bodies, no other eivdence had been found. I took note of the street addresses to go to the houses later on tommorow. The day had began to darken, it was now time for the night shift to come in and work. I walked outside after gathering my things in a bag and began to walk outside towards my car. As I was searching through my purse while still walking I heard the noise of a gun being loaded. I looked up in shock to see a man dressed all in black with a skull mask. In a deep voice, he began to talk.

"You are out of your league here! Quit now before it is to late!"

He walked off into the dark as I still stood there in dismay, watching him slowly dissapear. This mystery was getting deeper as the night was getting darker. Could this latest murder be by a copy cat, or was Lefty Two-Hands getting sloppier? Tommorrow will be a new day for me to investigate, and all I know now is that I have to figure this out before it becomes impossible to unravel and the murderer never to be caught.

    To be continued...
