• Chapter 1
    5:00 a.m.
    As the alarm buzzes loudly soon afterward being pounded on as if trying to be smashed by a hand of its rightful owner. A man who is called Matt.
    "ugh why do I always get up so early its like a curse." Matt said as he ruffled and straightening his medium brown hard and rubbing his dark brown eyes. "well no sense in going back to sleep I'm already up. I guess I should get ready for the day" Matt mumbled standing up walking to the bathroom as he trips over his backpack and falls to the ground
    "god damnit, stupid s**t " he said kicking the backpack roughly sending it flying over to the wall. "jeez my day is already getting off to a bad start" he moaned and then jumped from the phone ringing as he though of answering it but then I answering machine took the message.
    "hey honey its Mary…umm.. well I think that we've been going out for a long time and we should just start seeing other people. I'm sorry.. goodbye Matt…" as the machine beeped off
    "well damn this day I can tell, is going to just suck meagerly." he yelled punching the wall as the neighbors in the next apartment bang of the wall in anger.
    "oh uuh sorry about that wont happen again Ms. Robinson" he said hitting himself and then walking to the bathroom to comb his hair and brushing his teeth as he dresses for the day. "hmm wonder what I have for food today" he thought as he shaved the last bit of shaving cream off his face, And wiping his face, heading to the kitchen.
    "oh yes, score lucky charms awesome, and milk what are the odds?" he said pouring the milk into a bowl of lucky charms then turning on the T.V. seeing a breaking news alert .
    "Today there have been multiple cases of murder we do not know how, who, or why this is happening but there have been over 50 murders all in the same place. S.w.a.t., police, F.B.I., everyone is working on this epidemic and figuring out who's behind this. I'm bill Connenroy and its 5:49 on channel 6.
    "Oh crap I'm late for work" he said tossing the bowl into the sink and grabbing his backpack running out the door and locking it. As he runs and dodges people, animals, garbage. Almost tumbles over a hobo.
    "ahh stupid hobo get a job" he mumbled running into a silver tall building and into a quiet lobby and through a door which read employees only racing to clock in his card.
    "Whew that was close only 1 minute to spare" he panted trying to straighten up as he hears a familiar voice
    "So in by the last second huh?" the voice replied as a girl popped up from the desk staring at Matt with soft blue eyes and light bond hair a straight as can be.
    "Oh be quiet Carolann, I just haven been keeping track lately today's just not my day" he replied roughly frowning and then smiling "so what you doing after work today? Cause I'm bored and free" he quickly added smiling at her.
    "well… I don't know I'll think about it, wait why don't you hang out with Mary?" she asked staring at him, studying him.
    "oh yea .. Mary. She…. She left me" he said softly looking down as his hair hides his sad dark eyes.
    "oh… I'm so sorry well I will most likely be able to hang out afterwards maybe Claire and your cute friend Alex too" she said with a chuckle from the mention of Alex's name because she has had a crush on him ever since she has met him.
    "Oh why you gonna ask him out or somthin?" he smirked knowing she had a crush on him. Carolann blushed hard and looked away "I think you should get to your office now or you might get in trouble." she snapped shyly at him.
    "ok, ok I'm going " he said smiling knowing he had gotten her back from when she pranked him a while back. As he walked to the elevator pressing the button and entering the elevator pressing the 3rd floor building. as he arrives and the doors open he sees his boss "hey Mr. Frank how are you doing today?"
    "shut up and get back to work or your fired" Mr. Frank yelled at Matt not even looking up or anything.
    "yes sir!" he said rushing off to his office at the end off the hallway Quickly adding "Stupid ungrateful little p***k." whispering under his breath as he opens his door and closing it behind him tossing his backpack into a chair and sitting at his desk unlocking the drawers bringing out his laptop. And turning it on.
    "Oh man this is gonna be a while so hmm time to straighten up" he said walking around his office straightening up. Then his boss, Mr. Frank burst in with a weird mood.
    "hey Stan uuh how are you? Well it doesn't matter cause well the business has been a little slow lately and well where losing profit so your gonna have to be let go.
    "you… Your firing me?" he yelled as he glares at him.
    "ahh yeeah Sorry oh and we fired your friend Carolann as well." he said smiling at enjoying Matt's misery.
    "you son of a b***h you fired her too!?" he yelled and punched Mr. Frank in the face. Sending him flying into the file cabinet. "yea well now that I'm fired I don't have to listen and suck up to you ..I'm gonna love this" he grinned as he grabbed his suit and slammed him into the wall and then pulled him up and ran him through the office window into the hall as everyone looks into it and then cheering at Matt on. Then as Matt grabs his laptop and shoves it into his backpack and steps out and over Mr. Frank who was laying in the shattered glass bleeding. and walks over the glass as it crunched under his boots down to the elevator saying his goodbyes And punched the number 1 going down to the first floor. And as the elevator opens Carolann is waiting tears streaming down he soft face as she hugged matt and cries on his shoulder.
    "oh no shh its ok we didn't need this stupid job anyway your way better and smarter and deserve a better job." he whispered to her hugging her back comforting her
    "you really think that?" she said between gasps and tears. " you think I'm better that this job and smarter?"
    "oh absolutely I do how about today we celebrate and find out what will be our new better jobs will be huh? What do yah say?" he said trying to cheer her up smiling.
    "well.. It does sound like fun.. Ok then lets go have fun!" she smiled wiping her tears away and gathers up her belongings. As they both walk out of the building into the mid bright of the afternoon the see police and new teams gathered around the street.

    Chapter 2
    The undead awakening
    As Carolann and Matt walked over to the crowd they over heard news teams talking about a murder had taken place and a couple people walked on they got to see a glimpse of the body lying there in the ground as the man bleeds from the neck
    lying in his own blood his facial expression scared and pale.
    "oh my god that's so horrible." Carolann whimpered looking away as Matt looks at the man which in fact had been the same man who he had tripped over going to work.
    " you are right Carolann this is horrible but who would want to murder that man and why his neck and with what his neck had looked as though it was bitten or something." he whispered staring deeply at the dead man wishing he could take back what he said this morning.
    " I don't care can we just please go now or I think I might throw up. she said softly as she and Matt walked away form it and down the street as they hear a muffled ringing sound. "Oh! My phone" Matt said digging into his backpack and pulling out his phone and answering it. "hello?…. Oh hey what's up Alex!" he said cheerfully "I was about to call you do you want to hang out with Carolann and me tonight?… ok well how about …we meet you at the bar?.. Hah ok Alex talk to you later." Matt said hanging up the phone and jamming into his pocket. "ok well I guess where gonna go to the bar then" he said smiling at Carolann who was dozing off into space .
    "huh? Oh cool I haven't seen good ol Brent in a while" she replied cheerfully as she hummed a tune and enjoyed the beauty of the day forgetting all about her being fired.
    As they reach the magnolia bar they enter and see Alex at the bar sitting on a stool talking to a fit looking man with thinnish black hair and a stern looking face who was listening to Alex while polishing a glass.
    "So there I was walking home at night I took an alley way to save time and then all of a sudden this guy pops out from the shadows and told me to give him my money. Which o' course I had about 130 bucks on me and I wasn't about to lose it. So what did I do? I cracked him hard in the nose as he fell to the ground and the funny thing was I took his wallet hahaha." Alex said laughing with the man
    "Well what goes around comes around." said the man laughing with Alex and then looking over at Matt and Carolann. "Hey guys what's up? long time no see Carolann how have yah been?" he yelled to them as they walked over and sat next to Alex at the bar
    "Well we just got fired both of us" Carolann said frowning starting cry again but trying to hold back the tears.
    "Oh well I'm so sorry how about drinks on me? does that sound ok?" he said smiling
    " Ok thanks Brent your so nice!" she replied wiping her tears and ordering a drink and stares at all the people in the bar seeing if anyone she knew was there. "hey Brent is Katie working today?" Carolann asked looking for her.
    "oh uuh well shes not here yet but she will be soon if you guys are here for a while." Brent replied smiling.
    "oh Brent, Alex get this, so I'm fired right well when he told me I was just hmm ok its gonna happen sometime but when he said he fired Carolann too I lost it and I slammed him into the wall and through my office window into the hall." Matt said smiling " I was so filled with adrenaline it was great I felt so much better after I beat the hell out of that stupid p***k."
    "wow I would have done the same thing good going Matt I bet you sure left a goodbye present for him" Alex said laughing taking a sip of his beer
    "yea, you sure showed the boss well… who's boss" Brent laughs as well, setting another polished glass on the counter and filling it with beer handing it to Matt. Then the fain ringing is heard again.
    "god I'm just the person to call today or what." Matt mumbled taking out his phone and answering it "hello?…. Claire?! What's wrong?… no I'm not busy I'm at the bar with Alex, Carolann, and Brent… what?! Someone is trying to attack you and Kati well stay put in a safe place and arm yourselves with anything ill be right over" Matt shut his phone and jammed it into his pocket jumping up and the stares at Alex and Carolann "common guys Kati and Claire are in trouble and we need to go help them now" Matt said sternly and slung his backpack over his shoulder "sorry Brent we might be back later so don't hurt yourself ok?" Matt said at Brent who was again polishing another glass.
    "ok I will if you guys will be safe. you're my best customers and my favorites. So come back you hear " he replied smiling. As he waved them bye Matt, Carolann, and Alex walk out of the bar into the bright sunlight.
    "Alex do you have your car with you?" Matt looking at Alex impatiently.
    "yea sure its right over here get in" Alex replied unlocking the doors and slinging into the car starting it up. "alright so we need to save Kati and Claire hmm finally I get to do some action." he grinned as he floored the gas pedal as the rubber of the wheels grinded on the asphalt and Matt and Carolann where barley buckled in.
    "umm I think we should slow down or we might get a ticket" Carolann panted sitting down firmly holding onto anything she could find
    "haha nonsense I don't care if I get a ticket this is my time to shine" Alex yelled as he took a sharp turn making the wheels screech on the asphalt and the car zooms down the road and then stops immediately beside a small beautiful looking house with soft medium grass yards but a spot where a window had been busted and a trail of blood leading into the house and then a scream is heard inside.
    "common lets go" Matt said running in leaving both of them behind. I'm coming for you Claire!" mat yelled smashing into the door as Carolann and Alex aren't far behind. "man what's up with Matt?" Alex asked Carolann looking at her
    "oh well he told me he liked Claire so I well ..he likes Claire haha " Carolann chuckled at Alex.
    " oh but I though he was with Mary" Alex said puzzled
    "well she left him this morning kinda sad huh?" Carolann replied softly so Matt wouldn't hear.
    "well good he can ask Claire out cause he's been liken her ever since he met her in
    elementary school." Alex smirking looking at Matt as he reared up the stairs and saw a mysterious man slamming into the door. Then Matt noticed blood, more and more of it every time the man slammed into the door.
    "urrrgggrrrrrr" the man moan continuing to slam into the door. As Matt gasped at the sight of the man and a pool of blood under his feet. The man turned to him and slowly walked haphazardly towards Matt. When the mysterious man was out from the shadow the man was not of a man at all. But a thing which indeed was horrid and smelled horrid as well. Its face as well as skin was as if melting off chunks where missing as well as the lips showing sharp teeth and blood all over its body and its ripped clothing.
    "oh my god I think I'm gonna be sick" Carolann gagged looking away behind Alex as Alex takes a long look at the thing and shields Carolann protecting her. Matt just standing there frozen as the monster inches closer and closer and then blood is splattered all over the walls and Matt's clothes. While Matt was shocked as he watches the thing fall to the ground and a figure, a slim firm figure with cold hazel eyes and blond hair almost white stand there with a bat, blood covering it.
    " my god Kati you scared the living s**t out of me." Matt said putting a hand over his chest trying to slow down his heartbeat. Looking at the dead thing on the ground then as Kati continuously bashes its head with the bat until there's no more.
    "that will teach you to mess with me you stupid ugly b***h." Kati yelled at the thing bashing it one more time.
    "did you get it Kati? Said a shy soft voice emitting form behind Kati. As a slim pale girl pokes her head out showing her bright red hair and soft innocent hazel eyes.
    "yea Claire I think I got him he's dead… that will teach him to break into this home and terrorize us." Kati said panting and lowering the bat staring at the group "well hi Carolann, Alex you all come here to save us? How thoughtful haha." she said walking over to Carolann and Alex as Matt stares at Claire admiring her beauty.
    "umm h..hi Claire you look good today." Matt said blushing. as well as Claire.
    "hi Matt umm how umm are you? She smiled secretly having a crush on him ever since elementary school." well I just can't stay here because of that body. So lets go back to the bar" Carolann suggested as they all agreed and went outside and loaded into Alex's car as they all buckled in and started the car "ok here we go off to the magnolia bar " Alex said smiling.

    Chapter 3
    The fall of magnolia bar
    Alex, staring up the car drives out and around the corner and down the street towards the bar.
    "man this day is just crazy" Matt said to Alex looking down at his clothes covered in blood then at the road seeing no body in sight.
    "I know what you mean mine has been kinda hectic as well." replied Alex not taking his eyes off the road.
    "hey umm guys there's a broken window at the bar and I think there's blood going into it." Carolann said pointing to the bar.
    "Carolann that's not the only problem is that the door lying in the middle of the road?" Kati added pointing to the road as a door covered in blood had been ripped off its hinges and laid there. Stopping up near the bar and all of a sudden hearing a loud booming sound emitting from inside the bar and groans are heard.
    "Brent might be in trouble we have to help him!!" Claire said unbuckling and hoping out of the car. As well as the others and then running into the bar only to heard the boom again and then chucks of the same creatures go flying everywhere. Brent is seen behind the bar holding a sawn off shotgun to a creatures face and pulling the trigger making the creatures head explode flying everywhere and blood covering everything.
    "take this you stupid ..stupid…thing" yelled a voice form a girl next to Brent jamming a steak knife into of the creatures eyes as it groans loudly and falls backwards blood running down its cold half skinned face as it twitches. The attacker of this victim however was a slim one with curly brownish hair and bright blue eyes.
    "Katie! Your ok good I'm glad to see it" Carolann yelled smiling and waving.
    "yea I'm ok I just got here and then these creatures came in and just started attacking so I jumped behind the bar with Brent and well here we are." Katie said smiling and trying to settle down.
    "well I'm glad to see al my friends ok and safe" Matt smiled looking around at the creatures and then to everyone
    "asaaaaah! Help me!" Claire screamed as she falls over and a creature is crawling towards her with a knife in his eye.
    "Matt the emergency fire axe!" Brent yelled pointing over to the end of the bar as Matt ran over to it, busted it, and pulled out the axe running and then doing a windmill chop at the creatures neck as it slices through and the lower half of the body goes limp and the head rolls away form its body blood everywhere all over Claire and the axe.
    "my goodness thank you Matt you saved my life" Claire said standing up and kissing him on the cheek and hugging him. Matt blushing hugs her back as Alex and Carolann making faces at Matt and laughing,
    "I'm going to kill you guys" Matt mouthed at them and then smiled at Claire and walking over picking up a napkin cleaning off the ax. Then picks up a stool sitting in it looking at Brent "Brent may I have a beer please? Matt asked Brent smiling setting the ax beside him.
    "well sure, man your crazy one Matt after all that you can just sit down and have a beer" Brent said handing Matt a beer and polished glass. Claire grabbing a stool as well sitting beside Matt and then everyone else gathering around in stools.
    "ok so what the hell are these things that are everywhere?" Kati asked puzzled and ordering a beer as well.
    "ooooh ooooh I saw them in a movie they where zombies." Katie said nodding her head and straightening up and looked around for something to do.
    " of course why didn't we see it before. Matt where so stupid there zombies" Alex said smacking his head.
    "well that does explain a lot" Matt replied sipping his beer keeping a close eye out for any more zombies. "but why now all of a sudden the day after new years? It just doesn't make sense its like the end of all years or some crazy crap like that".
    "well I guess what happened has happened and we can't do nothing about it." Brent said cleaning blood off his sawn off and setting it on the bar re loading it. As Katie cleans the bar and glasses and then washing her hands.
    " hey bent you got any more of them sawn offs?" Alex asked pointing to the gun and sipping his beer as well.
    " well all I have left is this 12 gage and it has plenty ammo." Brent said walking to the end of the bar and pulling out a brand new 12 gage shot gun and ammo and then walking back handing it to Alex "merry Christmas Alex its your lucky day." Brent laughed and went back to polishing his gun.
    "sweet Jesus your always reliable Brent and such an awesome person." Alex smiled taking the gun and slinging it over is shoulder by its strap.
    "Claire Carolann do you guys need anything? To arm yourselves?" Brent asked pulling out a long serrated knife and a revolver.
    "jeez Brent you have everything in that bar" Alex said laughing finishing off his beer and standing up and walking to the back to the bathroom.
    " ok ill take the knife Carolann said picking it up and putting it away. And then started talking to Kati.
    "well I have Matt to protect me from any harm so thank anyway Brent" Claire answered taking Matt's arm and smiling making Matt blush.
    "well Katie I suppose your going with them so here take this revolver and be careful ok?" Brent said sternly at Katie handing her the revolver and Katie taking it tucking it away in the pocket.
    "thanks Brent I owe you one. Wait! What about you? What are you gonna do?" Katie asked Brent puzzled.
    "well me I have a family to get to so I'm going to go with them but thanks…."
    "sweet Jesus Christ" yelled Alex form in the back and then shooting the shotgun and running back into the bar. "my god there everywhere zombies all over the bar we are gonna die if we don't get out of here." Alex said panting and reloading the gun.
    "so its come to this huh? I'm gonna miss this baby" Brent sighed and pulled out a giant box and opening it. "but it has to be done for her sake" he said pulling out a key and turning of a device as it light up. " ok guys lets get out of here Brent said picking up his gun after shoving something into his pocket.
    "Brent? What the hell is that?" Matt said jumping up and picking up his ax as Kati and Carolann jump up as well along with Claire.
    " you shall see Brent said smiling and heading out the front door as zombies burst in form the back swarming all over. Alex shooting them and heading for the door as well as the others exit the bar and run over to Brent who was holding what seemed to be a remote control. Smiling Brent pressed the button as everyone was barely safe and the bar explodes with debris flying everywhere and screams emitted form the inside and the bar gets engulfed in flames. "ahh I'm gonna miss that baby she was one of a kind." Brent said sighing "well this is where we go our separate ways. " Brent said to everyone " I wish you all good luck and be safe we shall meet again I know it." he yelled as he walked to his car and got in starting it up, and driving off.
    "wow we will see Brent again I know it" Matt said to himself and then making sure everyone was safe "ok is everyone ok?" he said to all of them.
    "yea I'm fine" they all said together.
    "well we need to make a plan now first off where are we gonna go and how?" Matt asked resting the ax on his shoulder And thinks.
    "well always in the movies they go to a mall" Kati said "and well I think that's where we should go."
    "any objections?…..no alright off to the mall then" mat said pointing the ax to the car as they all walk over and hop in Alex starting it up and driving it to the mall.
    "wow Alex look at that that's so.. so horrible." Matt said pointing to a yard of a house as an adult zombie chased its kid and tackled him ripping its insides out eating them making a mess all over the yard turning the bright green grass red.
    " oh god that is so wrong I cant bare to watch " Alex replied speeding up and off. Turning the corner seeing the street filled with zombies walking aimlessly and haphazardly through out the street.
    "well this is just great Matt said hitting the dashboard looking at all the zombies. "well I guess we have to find another way to the mall." Matt sighed at Alex.
    "haha yea right this is the fastest way there and I ain't goin back" Alex said revving up the car and driving through the horde of zombies and going off the road. through a soccer field over objects and back on to the road swerving around zombies into the mall parking lot." whoo! We are there but I don't think we can get through the front door with a car so we have to get out. " Alex said stopping in the middle of the lot and getting out of the car holding up his shotgun looking out for any zombies that might stray near waiting for everyone else as they shuffle out. "hmm there are a few zombies straying near the entrance but that's all I can see" Alex said scoping out everywhere and blowing a head off a close zombie as blood splatters everywhere "oh yea I love this gun".
    "common there's the mall entrance " Matt sternly said walking towards the doors.
    "Matt! Wait up!" Claire yelled running up to him "uhh hi umm well I heard Mary left you. Well I …I like you" she said blushing and looking down at her shoes.
    "well you know what I like you too ever since elementary school I've liked you I just have been to shy to say it" Matt replied looking up as he was equally blushing
    "what really?! Erm I mean wow well do you.. Want to like umm go out ?" she asked softly smiling at him but in fear of what he would say next.
    "really? Well yes I would" he smiled kissing her and then walking to the door pulling on them leaving Claire there dumbstruck. "damn the doors are locked " he said frowning looking at Alex.
    "well there must be another way around" Katie said looking around the corner of the building. "hey here's a door wide open!" Katie yelled
    "yea but there might be a zombies in it." Kati suggested looking around the area for blood.
    "hey who's car is that anyone know?" Carolann asked
