• Part 1

She was running, her feet getting red with blood as they scraped and scratched on the sharp stones of the road. She didn’t care where she was going, only knew she had to get away. Get away from him, from them and their painful laughs and taunting. She hadn’t noticed it before, didn’t notice how cruel they truly where until it was too late.

One foot was placed wrong and she tripped, falling forward to the ground and getting her knees and hands cut. Staying in her sprawled position for just a few seconds, her eyes stinging with unshed tears. Crawling into a sitting position, her first few tears fell from her eyes and the sky tore open. The heavy rain that was falling the perfect cover for her tears and the crashing of thunder hid her voice as she screamed in anguish and sorrow.
Her Raven black hair dripping with water and her short white night gown sticking to her skin. It had some tears in it, covered in smudges of blood and dirt. Through her tears she wondered what she had done to deserve this, what had she done so wrong to be treated like a toy, a servant and a slave.
Her heart broke thinking about her night and her tears fell faster. The small frail body shivering from her sobs and the cold. Bowing her head and hiding her face in her hands she continued crying.
She should have known, it was too good to be true. But she had been blind, had been ignorant of everything that went on and in the end it had caused her nothing more then suffering and loneliness.

She didn’t know how long she had been sitting there, spiraling down in her feelings. It felt like an eternity and for once she was glad for the darkness of the night and the rain.
Her anguished peace and spiral was suddenly interrupted as a warm coat covered her shivering body. Warm hands gently lifted her from the ground and she settled in the warm embrace of someone’s arms. They cradled her body and an umbrella floated above her head, keeping her safe from the cold rain.
Looking up she met the stare of two sets of eyes. They spoke of understanding, concern and warmth. Shivering, a second coat joined the first and she ended up wrapped tightly in both. Looking at the one carrying her she relaxed just a little and leaned against his shoulder. She allowed her mind and body to give out to the exhaustion and fell into a fitful sleep.
