The full moon shown bright over a quiet town of Perriwood. It was close to midnight and every living thing was sleeping. It was a quite normal town at first glance, if those glancing over the town’s crowded cemetery were blind.
A figure stumbled between the tombstones at a fast pace, heading toward the old cemetery mausoleum. The figure stopped and crouched behind a large tombstone panting. Drops of blood dripped off of the figure’s slick black hair silently splashing the rose colored stone.
Ironically the tombstone read Jason Smith, died 1905. The graves’ supposed occupant was standing above his own coffin. Indeed the figure was Jason Smith, age seventeen. For the years that had passed since his death, he had not aged over a day. He paused and listened to the quiet night and heard the swift movement of multiple creatures moving toward his position. Jason swore silently to himself, he did not think that they would even dare trespass on his covens’ territory to go after him.
They were taking a big chance, to risk an attack from his coven during nighttime, especially during a full moon. Jason heard a wolf howl and shivered involuntarily. The covens one weakness and Jason’s only fear was hunting him down under the pale moonlight. He bolted from his spot the moon lit his path as he made his way toward the mausoleum.
He heard heavy panting all around him and could sense figures running behind him. If only he could make it to the mausoleum he would be able to survive but Jason could feel his strength and resolve weaken. He stumbled but someone caught him and pulled him up. A platinum blonde haired girl wearing all black pulled Jason behind another tombstone. Her eyes reflected the pale white moonlight as she took in Jason’s wounds. She touched his bleeding shoulder and shuddered in rage. Jason steadied himself on her shoulder and whispered, “Elizabeth---.” Elizabeth put her finger on his lips to quiet him and signaled to her head.
How could they do this? Elizabeth thought to Jason while looking at the extent of his wounds. Jason shrugged and flinched at the pain that action caused.
It was my fault, I provoked them….Jason replied. Elizabeth’s eyes widen and she leaned back.
Well this time you went way to far…. I don’t like these ‘missions’ that Stark makes you go on… those missions are getting way to dangerous. I keep worrying about the out come if you would get killed, or worse…
Jason could see the fear in her reflective eyes as he contemplated the ‘or worse’. Elizabeth was like a sister to him, she would not be to stand the pain of losing him, to spend an eternity in pain…. A sharp sound brought Jason and Elizabeth back into the present as shadows surrounded the pair trying to find them.
What do we do Lizzie? We are completely surrounded, Jason ran his right hand through his wet black hair and flinched at the pain that simple movement caused.
This is my fault, I shouldn’t have tried to get the…. Jason looked over at Elizabeth unsure to go on, as if held back by a force.
What, get the what? Elizabeth thought while wondering what psychotic death mission he went on to have them on his tail.
Its nothing, we should figure out a way to get out of here alive. Jason would have laughed had they had not been surrounded by entities that wanted to slaughter them. Elizabeth smiled and gently laid her hand on Jason’s shoulder.
Ambrose and Jazz are coming to help us, Elizabeth’s senses heightened as she scanned the cemetery for the back up she had called before crossing the border line. They should be coming soon and we’ll make our escape as Ambrose and Jazz distract them…
Jason gave Elizabeth a look and shivered on what Jazz and Ambrose had to undertake to save his sorry hide.
Don’t worry Jason, Jazz won’t get caught, he is way to fast for that. Even Ambrose will be able to out run them.
Elizabeth could see the doubt in his eyes and could feel the numbing fear coming from his mind. She brushed back a stray hair from in front of Jason’s eyes and gave him a look of reassurance. Elizabeth took her hand off of Jason and cautiously peeked behind the gravestone.
Wait for my signal, and we’ll run…. Elizabeth thought. Jason shivered as the cold wind whipped around them. He shook with indignation at his own actions. He himself could not understand why he did these things for Stark. Jason sighed and his hand unconsciously fell to his coat pocket, where the thing he crossed the boundary lines for lay. That thing could have caused his entire coven to be murdered or even worse…
