• Chapter 3 Taming The Beast:
When he woke up the next morning Amy was already up cooking fish over a campfire. “Oh, your awake now? I could have used your help catching these fish.” She said as he sat up. He yawns as he starts to talk “Oh, sorry just yesterday was hectic.” She nodded “Yeah, well today’s the day.” He looked puzzled “What for. What’s special about today?” She kept looking at the fish “Well nothing I guess if I would have found you tonight then tomorrow would have been the day. Today though we start taming the beast.” He got up and sat down beside her “Beast? What beast?” She pointed to the book “The book says the Wolf Twilight is wild, and is hard to control. Were lucky it wanted us alive, because if it didn’t we’d be dead from the fireball.” He looked at her “Ok so what do we do?” She smiled at him “Now that’s the fun part.”
After they ate breakfast Amy took them deeper into the woods. “Ok,” she turned around “the basis of Twilight Animals is your spirit.” “My spirit, ok.” He waited for her to say what to do next. “Most of the time it’s brought about by extreme desperation. However to avoid attacking you we can start on the small stuff.” He was starting to get worried “Yeah, the small stuff.” “What were going to do is raise your level of awareness by using your wolf sense.” She was staring at Arc “Uh, what are you doing Amy?” “Hey, hey, be quite. Concentrate on your sense.” She went back to what she was doing, but this time she closed her eyes. When she reopened they weren’t human. “Amy, what happened to your eyes?” She looked puzzled “My eyes… oh, yeah it’s my fox eye.” “Fox eye, so does that make you the Fox Twilight?” he asked as her eyes went back to normal. “Yup, yes it does!” She responded with a smile.
“Ok, let me try this.” He breathed in deep and let out a long exhale. As he did this he started to hear more things. Smells flooded his nose, and when he opened his eyes he could see further and more detailed. He kept concentrating while looking around “Wow, this is amazing.” He looked at Amy and stopped concentrating. Everything flooded back to normal at once and he almost fell over. “Whoa, that was weird” He said regaining his balance. “Yea, you get use to it.” She said teasingly. “Ok that was easy, so what next?” He asked then he noticed her smiling menacingly.
“Amy wait isn’t there another way?!” he asked while running. “Nope, we have to get your Wolf Sprint. Focus on your running and not me.” She said as she smirked. “That’s a little hard considering your trying to kill me!” he said as he tried to focus.” Do you think they won’t be trying to kill you? You need to focus.” “Ok, ok” he ducked a kick “I’ll try.” He managed to focus on running and as he did he felt great power well up in his legs. He started to run faster bit-by-bit, but certainly faster. He started not being able to see thing. Ah, so I have to use my wolf sense. As he thought that he concentrated. The things he couldn’t see before were now the easiest things to see.
He looked back at Amy who was smiling. He returned her smile only to trip over a route. He rolled for about ten feet then stopped and looked up. Amy was standing over him laughing. “Haven’t you ever heard of keeping your eyes on the road?” she said while laughing so hard she could barely breath. “Yeah, yeah, ok miss perfect what next.” He asked while getting up. After she stopped laughing she responded, “We go back to camp.” “Alright, let’s go.” He started to lead the way. As she followed she shouted up to him “Don’t trip!” She immediately went back to laughing.
