Cold flakes from above
falling to the ground at a leisurely pace
carrying alongside them
the joys of Christmas past
Hungry eyes stare through the glass
full to the brim with excitement and hope
to run and roll in the mounds of white
to toss and throw little balls of cold
and at the end of the day
to walk inside wet and frozen
but pleased and tired
and all through the night
those flakes will fall
to fill in the spaces left by their running
their rolling and tossing and throwing
to wipe away the efforts of the day

- Title: Cold Flakes
- Artist: Kamatari Nakatomino
- Description: It describes the feelings children experience during the first snowfall of the year. It describes them remembering the past and how much fun they had the last time it snowed. And the final thing it describes is the fresh feeling you get the next day when you get to go out and do it all over again.
