• The snow was as thick as I remembered it, my feet sunk in to the ankles and the hot drink that I had drank was starting to wear off. I opened my bag and grabbed another one. Just then I saw the reflection of something silver fly through the air. I was not going to go through the same thing as with the Tigrex. I grabbed my sword and thanked the lord that I had not taken my armour off for the night. I spun round and looked up. There it was, looking at the sun setting, with it's completely silver body glistening in the sunlight like diamonds. It's arrow tipped tail was curled around it's body and it's horns also did not look as dangerous as they really were. It looked like a simple, harmless ice sculpture until it looked down at me. I saw the fire flare in it's eyes and it opened it's great wings. I was blinded by the reflection so I just dove forward hoping I wouldn't get hit. To my surprise, I had just dove at the right time and missed a freezing cold shard of ice that had been blown at me by the creature's wings. I got up just in time to see the Kushala Daora land in front of me and raise it's chest. It was testing me and I did not want to fail. I slowly drew my sword back and with as much speed and force I could muster, I struck It's chest. My now very blunt sword bounced of it's chest and flew out of my hands. I failed the test and it flung it's head forward to bite me. Thinking quickly, I jumped out of the way and ran for cover. I didn't dare look over my shoulder but I could tell it was flying after me because of the sound it's wings were making as they cut through the air. I saw a cave up ahead so I ran for it's dark gaping mouth. Just as I reached it, the Kushala Daora opened it's vicious jaw and spat out a freezing beam of wind. I dove out of the way but it was too late. The beam of air punched into my side, winding me. I could feel me innards freezing, my going numb. I was going to die in this place and be forgotten. I was going to be this beast of shining silver's dinner and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I closed my eyes and prepared for the inevitable but, just as I opened my palms for one last prayer, my bag fell in into my hands. I then remembered the defrosting liquid I had packed. I slowly opened my eyes and opened my bag. There it was, next to the hot drink I was going to consume. I grabbed it and drank the whole bottle. Slowly the feeling returned to my arms and legs and I could breath properly. I got up and looked for the Kushala Daora, which should have killed me by now. It was nowhere to be seen, and neither was the entrance to the cave. The blast of wind had, not only thrown me into the cave, but also caused an avalanche that blocked the entrance into the cave. I was saved for now.
