First Meeting

"I don't want to go!"

The small girl struggled to become lose of the strong hand gripping her wrist.
It was a sunday morning, people went about their usual business, some stayed within their homes enjoying their day off. The day was sunny with few clouds in the sky. Small children ran about freely, something she envied even though she didn't like them. She didn't even like the whole town at all for that matter, even before she came. She had left her friends back overseas, but making new friends here never crossed her mind even once.

Nevertheless she followed her father-or rather, staggered behind, acting like the child she was when there was something she didn't want to do. Her father scolded her, telling her to hush. As much as a brat she was, her father was the only person she ever respected.

"Knock it off." Her father said as they walked down the almost busy street, a church in the distance, "I'm only doing this for your own good Kisara, you have to get used to this place sometime."

"I don't want to!" The girl pouted, pointing towards the upcomming building, "I espessially don't like places like that! Let me go home!"

"Stop acting like a child." He snapped, turning his now serious eyes towards her, "If what I've tried hasn't made any progress, then maybe you need to learn a little more about these people. "

"In there?" She snorted, "Churches are stupid, I have better things to do!"

"Sitting in your room isn't being productive Kisara, I just want you to make friends. Now behave. There's someone I'd ;like you to meet."

Kisara's eyes formed a glare, gritting her teeth as she gave up the struggle for freedom.
This sucks. she thought to herself, her eyes looking down.

She wanted nothing to do with these people, all she wanted was to be alone, all she wanted was to go back home, to her old school, her old town, her old friends...but it seemed merely a dream now. All she could do now was sigh. Her father obviously wasn't going to let her go now, what could she possibly do?

Her head finally turned up from the ground ascending the now large building, a cross placed at it's peak, as if it were watching over everything, everyone who entered. She could hear people singing from within the large doors. Not the kind of music she enjoyed, in fact, hyms and such were annoying in her ears.

The sooner we got this over with the better.

The doors opened as her father quietly pushed through not wanting to disturb the events inside. The music seemed to ring in her ears, the voices of many diffrent people sitting in church benches beside one another as they sang. Some turned their heads to look at the newcommers, but barely anyone seemed to notice.

The place looked even bigger from the inside. Stained glass windows harboring images in various colors, the archetecture of the place was amazing. Even Kisara herself found herself in awe of such a place.

A long, red carpet lay running straight through the entrance to the end, where a young man stood, seemingly leading the song on.

Kisara stared at him for some time in the distance from where they stood as she held her father's hand. There was something about his voice, something about it that calmed her. She didn't know what it was, and they weren't seated for very long. No sooner were she and her father seated that they stood again, her father held her hand tightly as a large crowd of people so's not to lose her.

Eventually they cleared, only a a number of people remained within the holy walls, Kisara's father taking his turn to meet with the white haired man.

"Kisara, this is Hizumi. Say hello."

The girl's eyes ascended to meet gems of amethyst.

She felt a sudden jolt in her heart, looking into those eyes, that face, but most of all, his eyes.

Beautiful, yet frightening.

Wh...who is he? why are his eyes..?

She swallowed hard as she only stared at him. He had such a beatiful face, a kind smile, there was a calming atmosphere about this man that she didn't know..but she was afraid of him.
He was pale, as if he were dead. even her father seemed bewildered by this, but said nothing.

Unlike his daughter, Joshua had heard many good things about this preist, looking at him was enough to see he was a good man.

They just didn't know what he truly was...yet.

"Kisara, say hello."

Kisara stood close to her father. Hizumi's eyes seemed to peirce into her own, he scared her. She flinched slightly watching his pale hand move out to her as if to shake her own. Her eyebrows lowered, as if giving him a warning not to touch her.

This man...his eyes...

"Kisara.."
Her father was beginning to grow impatient with her attitude, suddenly, with on rough pull, Kisara took her hand from her father's stepping away.

He scares me....

She now looked at Hizumi with frightened eyes, she turned and ran out of the church, her father calling after her. "Kisara!!" But it was too late, she was gone. Joshua turned to Hizumi, sighing as he rubbed his face.

"I apologize for her behavior...she's just angry at me for moving from our old town...I'm hoping that coming her will help her adjust. Don't take what she says or does personally, she hates everyone right now..such a child."

Kisara in the meanwhile had ran off some distance from the church, a lone park where she stopped and stood, a small hand to her chest.

That man...what was wrong..with his eyes..?
Thinking about him made her shudder, made her heart beat with fear. She looked back, still seeing the church some ways in the distance, her small fists clenched, she wanted to scream.

"I hate you!!"

Her hands brought themselves to her face as tears began to run down. "I don't want to be here...I want to go home...."

She stand idle in the park as she sobbed, continuoulsy avoiding Hizumi and anyone else in the church for the next few days.
