Everything is Blue

The Start of a Short-lived childhood Friendship
Reise sat under the large tree, shading himself from the sun and people around him. The park was busy today, many families enjoying their time together as green eyes watched with unreadable emotions.

Anger, jealousy, envy, sadness.

The boy with scars turned his head down to the smooth green graa under his hand while his other rested on his knee. Many sighs escaped him as he closed his eyes deep in thought. He wasn't the social kind, and he didn't have many friends. In fact, he didn't have any true friends at all. The most they were kids he often fought with, teased because of the scar on his face. It was a feeling that made him burn up inside, their taunts and insults never leaving his mind. He just wanted to curl up and disappear into thin air, unnoticed. He felt himself weak, because no matter, what, people knew how to strike a nerve. He felt his chest tighten. Reise shook his head trying to set his mind on ease and think on other things.

His aunt and uncle, whom had taken him in after his parents' death, were his only family, his grandparents never really wanted anything to do with him, they had always said bad things about Reise's father around him. They told him he often cheated on his mother, that his mother was a whore, they even told him he was an accident, right to his face. Why they said such things confused him. He barely remembered his parents, but he knew, very well, they had been good parents, though his father did smoke, he could not remember a bad moment between them.
They were loving just like any parents, so why were his relatives conjuring lies?

Only his adoptive parents ever defended him. They loved him like their own child. His aunt could not conceive children, yet despite this, she couldn't bring herself to leave her sister's son alone. She often watched her husband play with the boy in his younger years, but knew that, despite having a home and parents, Reise was never truly happy. His scar was a reminder of that fire, something he hated deeply. All things in the past raced through Reise's mind as he began to doze off.

"What's wrong?"

Reise's closed eyes shot open as a cheery voice rang his ears. Looking up, he turned his head to see a girl, seemingly the age of 11, with long, blue-tinted hair in pigtails and sapphire eyes tooking over the large tree.

The two young strangers stared at each other as if waiting for the other to speak first, but Reise only remained silent as this strange girl only stood with intrest in the boy.

"Are you okay?"

she asked again. Her voice was holly and full of life. He had to admit to himself, she was cute, but still he would not answer. He wasn't the best around strangers, espessially little girls. He realized he'd turned his head away, and with a bitter tone, answered her question.

"..Fine." He said, hoping the girl would go away and leave him in his peace. After a minute, his head turned again, just to make sure she was gone, but to her dismay, she was now sitting beside him, her hands in her lap, eyes of sapphire locked onto him. Reise, caught by surprise of this, jumped, falling onto his said as he moved away some inches from her, her head tilting in confusion.

"I told you to go away!" He snapped, rubbing the back of his head. The girl only blinked to this.

"No you didn't. You only said you were fine, but I can tell by your tone something's wrong."

"....."

Reise only snickered as he turned his head away. This little girl was already annoying him. "I don't need your pity, nor do I want your company. Get lost, girl."

The girl pouted, her hands clenching within her lap. "Don't call me girl!" She said, rather annoyed.

Reise smiled, chuckling to himself. Looking at this kid, two years younger than him, cute but already annoying. If he was lucky she would leave, yet she didn't. An awkward silence seemed to run among the two, a yawn escaping Reise's throat. Looking through the corner of his eye he saw the girl looking at him-No, it was his scar she was staring at. Reise's teeth clenched, turning to this girl. "What the hell are you staring at?!" He hissed, "Is my scar that much of a distraction?!"

She moved back a bit, shaking her head now knowing how scary this boy was. "I-I didn't say anything..!" she said, "I wasn't looking at your scar, honest. Why would I make fun of it, anyway? I wouldn't ask about it unless you told me first. I'm sorry..."

Reise's eyes widened a bit. He looked away to clear his throat, staring elsewhere.

"I'm Kisara." The girl said.

A slightly shocked look overcame Reise, who was surprised this girl was mentioning her name out of the blue.

"Kisara, huh?" He said, repeating her name. He had to admit, the name did suit her.
"...Reise." He spoke softly. "My name is Reise."

"Reise.." Kisara smiled, taking his hand into hers, Reise's eyes widening as he looked down, their smaller fingers now intwined.

"What the hell are you--"

"Ok! We're friends now!" She smiled. Reise looked at her with a face of utter disbeleif and confusion. what the hell just happend?!

"Wh-Wha?! No!" He snapped, pulling his hand away, "Get away from me! I don't want to be your friend!"

Kisara pouted once more, her eyebrows lowered. "Aww, but why?" She asked, "You should come play!"

At the mention of this Reise sneered, trying to move away from this persistant girl. "You're nothing but pest! Get away from me, kid!"
But she did not listen, instead she dragged him from his spot into the warm sun, both children bickering with each other until the other cooperated with their terms.
