INMH's Journal of Ultimate Splee-ness
I like reading. I like writing. I am also totally out of my mind, so most of what I write in here will be funny or complete lunacy. :D I don't hear any of you com-plaaai-niiiiiing... (Evil grin)
March 25th, 2007: ROAD TRIP!
Ah, what a Sunday. My mom's out of town, so my dad and I went up to Massachusetts for the day. First, we went to his toy soldier show (comes every spring and fall), and I figured that if he could stand me dragging him to every bookstore I know of in the spaqn of a few days, I can handle going to one of his shows.
Then, we went to Borders. First eventful thing of the day- there was a drunk guy in front of the store that asked my dad to 'do him a favor'. Dad said quickly that we were in a hurry, and dragged me inside. Okay. Weird. But it's Massachusetts we're talking about, here. (I can say that because I was born there biggrin ).
My aunt (my dad's older sister) works at that store (and all of my relatives on both sides of my family live in Massachusetts, save for one minor branch) and we ended up talking with her. She works in a bookstore, I FREAKING LOVE HER blaugh . I got a crapload of manga with a gift card I got for Christmas: Ouran High (vol. 1), Zombie Powder (vol. 1), Bleach (vol. 18 *I think*), and the manga adaptation of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Then, dad and I went to Germantown, which is the section of Quincy I used to live in, and visited my Uncle (my dad's best friend) and my aunt. I haven't seen him since I was five, possibly four, and had no idea what he looked like. Not to mention that in the span of time since I've last seen him, he's nearly died twice (first from Leukemia, then from Legionnaires disease).
We had a nice, long talk, and three of his sons came home. Two of them were maybe eight and six, and the other was in his twenties. Again, more laughs, and then we left. Dad and I swung by the house we used to live in, and then mused on why there are so many goddamn pubs in Quincy. Dad says its because it was, at one time, made up primarily of Irish and Italian families.
Then, an hour and a half ride home in the car, with my throat aching violently from God-knows-what. All in all, a good day. blaugh Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go down a couple of ibuprofen for my throat.

"I believe they are Herbivores. You know, Kelp-suckers."
