Chapter 6
Chapter 6:
Trapped on the Basement Floor: The Tournament of Something Similar to Death
“Al, grab your things, you too Famous. We’re heading to the tourney! I see my limo out there. Hurry lets go!” Haku shouted excitedly. The three of them grabbed there stuff and headed towards the door. The boys got in the limo and pulled out of the school parking lot. “Let’s get our duel on!” Haku shouted as the limo neared the hobby shop.
“Welcome Haku, I have been waiting for you!” a snake-like voice said to Haku as he excited the limo followed by Al and Famous. “Come on in, I wouldn’t want you to have a late registration.” The snake-voice continued saying. He was slightly taller than Haku and had longer greasy blue hair. Haku and his friends followed him inside the door.
“So this is where they moved the tournament. I got an email yesterday that said they were moving. So…this looks kinda creepy.” Haku said. He was standing in an abandoned room that he was referenced to by the lying snake voice man.
The snake man locked the door. He trapped Haku, Famous, Al and himself in the abandoned room. “This isn’t the tournament you planed to go to. This is nothing like it. Welcome to hell!” The snake man said with anger. “And I, Zen, will take you strait to the hottest part! The snake man, Zen, said as he laughed manically.
“Chill bro. You wont beat Haku, it just doesn’t happen. Your a** is grass and Haku’s a lawnmower. Vindicators can beat anything you throw out.” Al said bragging to Zen.
“Yea, he’s right. The boss will cream your butt.” Famous said as he scanned the room. He saw chains attached to the sealing and steel doors. They had to win the duel to escape.
“I have the only key, and you wont get it. I suppose I could hand it over if you defeated me, but I don’t see that happening.” Zen said as he played with the key in his hand. “If I hear one more remark like that boy, I will swallow the key, along with this pill.” Zen then held up a small white pill.
“What the hell is that?” Haku shouted. He was worried of what that pill was.
“Its street name is the ’Sweet Escape’ and it can kill 2 minutes after its swallowed. Of course that’s the easy way out. As soon as I win, a lethal toxin will be released from those tanks over there.” Zen said as he pointed to the back wall where there were 3 huge tanks of mercury.
“What? So how the hell do we escape?” Al asked. He was worried as well.
“You see,” Zen said, “that’s the thing, you don’t.” He began laughing again.
“If I beat you give me the key!” Haku shouted. He was frightened and furious.
“How about this, we forget the key. I’ll hook it to this chain here. If you win, its yours, that is if you can get to it in time.” Zen said. He hooked the key to the chain and flipped a switch. The chain laid on the floor, coiled around a few times but not a lot. The switch began pulling up the chain…it was headed to the ceiling. Zen then broke the switch to shut it off. “If you don’t beat me in time, the key will be stuck on the ceiling, and the mercury will kill your brain. Even if someone finds you in time, you’ll be too brain-dead to ever shuffle another deck in your life!” Zen said. “Now let the duel begin.”
“Good luck H-man!” Al yelled to Haku, who was face to face with a very tough situation. If Haku lost, he couldn’t throw the sexy party he had been planning since before Chapter 1, not only that, they would die!
“Looks like I’ll start.” Haku said as he added the sixth card to his hand. He had some decent cards, but nothing he could use yet. “I summon Robo-Vindicator Aqua’s Man-at-Arms. He has the ability to power up all my other Aqua’s monsters while in the grave. Now with that, I end my turn.” Haku said as he waited for Zen to make his move.
"I play 3 fiend sanctuary spells and then creature swap on your Aqua's Man-at-arms." Zen said as he caught the Robo-vindicator Haku was forced to toss over. "Here, you can have this token." He replied tossing over the spell. "I now play soul exchange, allowing me to sacrifice your fiend token for my Gilford the Lightening, but now I can’t attack. I end...go looser. You will die soon. Everyone dies!" he said as Haku began to draw.
"You know that Fiend Sanctuary spell?" Haku asked. He was ready to play his new primo card.
"You mean the one I just played to get out my really strong monster on my first turn? Yea I know of it get to the point!" Zen said. He was getting Irritated.
"Well check out this! Vindi-Sanctuary! Now I summon a Robo-vindicator token monster, he's also known as Robo-Vindicator Eledapter." Eledapter was only a token, but a powerful one. It could unionize with an opponents monster! "now Eledapter, go after my man-at-arms!" Haku said as Eledapter leached on to the twin blade wielding blue vindicator. "Now second effect! I can sacrifice Eledapter while equipped with a monster to fusion summon!" Haku shouted. "I summon....Robo-Vindicator Eledapter-Flare!" Eledapter flew up into the air, near the top of the ceiling. Aqua’s Man-at-Arms vanished in flames. Fire armor emerged and equipped itself to Eledapter. “Eledapter, Attack! My monster has a total of 2000, but now I activate my Quick-play spell from my hand.” Haku slid in to the spell slot his other new card, Golden Sword of the Vindicator. “Check it! This card can only be activated on my turn, during my battle phase, from my hand when a weaker Vindicator attacks a stronger monster!” He said, knowing the effect without looking at the card. He knew what he was talking about. “ Now I increase my attack by the amount I‘m willing to pay from my life points.” Haku said as he began to calculate the points he would pay.”
“You can’t pay enough to kill me this turn so you are as good as dead!” Zen said as he began to laugh.
“You can’t always win in two turns Haku, pace yourself and make careful plans!” Al shouted, trying to cheer Haku on.
“You can do it boss! Take him out now!” Famous yelled to encourage Haku to do his famous few turn wipe out.
“So what are you going to pay? How much?” Zen asked, his tone was giving Haku chills. Just then, Haku began to chuckle.
“I pay…All four-thousand of my life points!” Haku shouted.
