My mother used to say that there are no strangers, only friends you haven't met yet. She's now in a maximum security twilight home in Australia.
How do you know when you've made a friend for life?
Something that's becoming more and more obvious to me is that I have lots of friends who come to me for help and advice, but very few friends who are prepared to listen to me moan about my troubles.
And the most suprising thing about it is that all the friends who are there for me 24/7 are people I've met on the internet.

My favorite thing about the Internet is that you get to go into the private world of real creeps without having to smell them.
Slowly but surely I've come to the conclusion that sometimes a friend isn't neccessarily a person who you spend all your time with but someone who you can call up at 4am and they'll answer!
I've never been one for having a lot of close friends. Don't get me wrong, I have loads of mates but they're all from different social circles and most of them I might not see for 6 months at a time. They're all good mates too, because it doesn't matter if I don't see them for ages, when we meet up it's just like we only spoke the day before, nothing changes.
Joseph Addison
True happiness is of a retired nature, and an enemy to pomp and noise; it arises, in the first place, from the enjoyment of one's self, and in the next from the friendship and conversation of a few select companions.
The best of my friends though are those people who listen, and advise and then make me laugh. The ones who can help me solve my problems not only by offering their opinion but also by cheering me up when I'm down. They make me realise that, however big and scarey my difficulties seem, as long as I keep my chin up I can face anything!
So today, *big hugs* to all my internet friends. You know who you are!
Thank you all for being there!
