You know what's really annoying on the internet? Actually, it's not just annoying on the internet, it's also annoying in real life too. It's just plain...annoying. What's really annoying is when people don't know how to reply.

Have you ever had the experience of messaging someone or leaving them an e-mail or a note and you wait and expect them to reply but they never do? Stragely, some people seem to be completely incapable of replying sometimes even if you expressly tell them to. The reason why completely eludes me. Could it be that they just don't want to talk to you? That is certainly a possibility. But still it leads me to wonder why.

It is just common courtesy to say that you are busy and at least give an explanation as to why you couldn't answer. It doesn't matter if it is delayed or what but it is just respect for the person that you should at least reply right? At least that is what I think.

To me, not replying is tantamount to ignoring someone. Isn't it right for me to think so? If not, what is the difference of ignoring someone on IM and not replying? It is the same in the internet, you cannot tell the motive of a person. What else could that person assume? That the other is busy? Though it is possible that they are, why are they still online if they don't want anyone to disturb them? Or at least why don't they just tell the people messaging them to leave them alone for a while because they are busy? It is possible to do that in a polite and nice way, me having done it a couple of times myself. Also, if you really wanted to talk to the person it wouldn't matter how busy you are. You would still find time to talk to the person, wouldn't you?

The point is, usually I assume that people who don't reply to me do not want attention from me or else doesn't want to talk to me. It doesn't constitute being busy at all. Or perhaps those people who don't know how to reply just have no respect for the person who is talking.
