“Hey, Joey. Do your math homework?” I asked. “Let me guess, you need the answers because you were too busy playing with spider, daydreaming, or you were sick?” he laughed. “Wow, you’re getting good at guessing!” I giggled. He pulled out his homework as we walked to the library. Our usual hangout spot. We entered the library, and as compared to the blistering Arizona heat, the air was freezing. “Remind me why we hang out in here?” I asked shivering. “Because it’s quiet and close to Social studies.” He shrugged. “Fine smarty pants” I said grabbing his math homework and pulled out a blank sheet of paper. I started to copy down the answers as other people started to file into the school. “Hurry up! We’ll get caught,” he said nervously. “You’re so weird. You hang out with someone who’s gotten in more trouble in one year then you have in your life.” I said back quietly. As I finished he eagerly took back his paper and I shoved mine into the abyss I call a backpack. “Let’s hope you don’t freak when I seriously prank the freshman next year. I will get revenge!” I said dramatically. “Now, you’re starting to scare me.” He smiled. The rest of our friends arrived and came into the library. They all sat next to us. “Hey guys” Joey ‘s girlfriend, Gigi, called to us. “Hey Gigi.” We both said at the same time. Though I said it rather rudely. Not that I was jealous or anything like that. I just didn’t like her. That and I wasn’t comfortable with the thought that my best friend was dating and I hadn’t even been asked out. It really bothered me. As I sighed and picked up my stuff Joey glared at me. It was not a nice glare. It was an evil ‘Sit down before I make you’ glare. “What? I have drama club.” I said and walked away. Joey shook his head as I left. I came into the exceptionally large courtyard to find the janitor chasing away a flock of bats. I ran as fast as my combat boots would take me, “Hey, stop!” I yelled. He stared at me for a second before chasing them away again. They were soon out of sight. “Do you realize they were just trying to sleep? And just trying to live!” I screamed angrily. Bats and spiders are my favorite animals. And seeing them hurt or anything remotely close to that really made me angry. “You’re one freaky girl” the janitor mumbled and walked away. I started towards the drama room. Of course I really didn’t have drama club but I liked the teacher. We had a lot in common. As I walked in her smiled. “I see you back again Claudia” he grinned. “Still wanting to join dram club” “Nope. The whole acting scene isn’t my style. I just like hanging out in here, you’ve got a lot of vampire stuff” I smirked. It was true. He had posters everywhere. Of Dracula 2000 and The Lost Boys. And vampire plushies. Told you we had a lot in common. “You are welcome here anytime Vampiress.” He said in a Romanian accent and bowed.
