Day 2 of the storm called Emily. It started raining really early today(like 1am apparently.I woke up at some point of the night and it was raining already, so maybe I woke up at 1am?).My parents decided not to send me to class today. My sinuses are better, but my parents thought it was too risky.Heavy rain means flood in various places of the Island and after what happened in August of last year, my mom didn't want a repeat of that. For those who don't know what happened, last year in August, there was a hurricane that was heading for us.Instead of having me stay home, my parents sent me to class. The thing was that the hurricane itself didn't pass directly over us(Thank God!), but the edges of it were. While I was in college, we got hit with heavy rain and wind.At that time, my grandmother would be the one picking me up after class to either take me to her house or a convent with some nuns.My mom got out of work and being a hurricane passing by and all, it's Hysterics Mode for her.She gets into a complete hysterical panic mode whenever there's talk of hurricanes or there's a hurricane on the way.Being that there was a hurricane, she freaked about me being so far from home and called me.I tried to calm her down and hand the phone to one of the nuns to try to give her directions, but Mom being Mom, said "Screw it, I don't know the area and I'll just get lost.Get yuorself over to your grandmother's house pronto!" My grandmother wasn't feeling so well, thus she couldn't take me(and I think she was sleeping too). The priest there was the one who took me to the house and Mom was happy to see me(still freaking out though). We reach the highway and it was utter hell.Never have I seen such traffic like the one I saw that day.It took us hours to get home! Then my brother and I had to get all the patio furniture into the garage(Whoohoo for furniture pile ups).Of course, me being me and all, in my old acount that is now a mule, I posted in my journal "If I die, I just want you all to know that I love." Didn't die, but still, whatever.Emily's probably gone by now, but you can never bee too careful.
