Time Since Passed
Riku and Rixa had fallen asleep together after talking for hours and hours almost without end.Riku was the first to wake up, lifting himself up and groaning a bit.He felt a little tired from all the talking, but he'd been through worse.He saw Rixa comfortably laying in his arms, still asleep.He smiled at her and felt amused at how she could sleep without a care in the world.
"Just like a baby.She'd probably get mad at me if I told her how cute she looks sleeping."
"Mrrm, so tasty.Wait up, guys...I'll be there..."
"Even talks in her sleep.What more could I ask for?"
"How about being quiet for a few minutes?You just woke me up and I was having such a nice dream...", Rixa groaned, stirring from her slumber, "Just a few more minutes..."
"Wake up, sleepyhead.It's already morning and I don't have any more jobs from DiZ, which means we have the day to ourselves."
Rixa hit him in the chest with her head, making him fall backwards.She grabbed a nearby pillow and hurled it at his head.He managed to block it before it reached him and put it down on the floor.Rixa looked flustered with herself and didn't want to look at him.Riku laughed, realizing that it had been some time since they had a day to just spend it together without worrying about the Organization or Kingdom Hearts.He stood up and walked to the door, signaling to Rixa.
"Come on, sleepyhead.It's too good of a day to let it go to waste.Wouldn't you rather spend it having fun with me than in bed?"
"S-Shut up!", she yelled, turning around so quickly, her hair covered her face, showing hints of red in her cheeks, "You're just trying to get me to do something with you!You sneaky b*****d!"
"So I'm a b*****d now for wanting to spend a day with you?", he chuckled, putting his hand on her head, "Yes, I'm such a deviant to take advantage of such a beautiful girl."
"S-SHUT UP!", she screamed, slapping him.
Once he had calmed her down, he took her to the roof of the mansion.They sat down, but both didn't speak a word.Riku rubbed his cheek where Rixa had slapped him.No girl had ever hit him, much less that hard.He couldn't help, but laugh in his head.Rixa was an odd girl after all, so different from Kairi.It got him thinking.How long had it been since he left Destiny Islands?Since he had watched the sun set with Sora and Kairi?Rixa was lost in her thoughts, trying to figure out how to break the silence.She didn't dare ask Riku about his life out of fear of pressing the wrong buttons.He saw that Rixa was struggling to choose the right words, so he broke the silence.
"Something on your mind?"
"N-No it's nothing, forget about it."
"Come on, you can tell me anything.What's on your mind?"
"Well, I was wondering...what your life was like, before all this..."
"What it was like...I lived in a place called Destiny Islands, with my friends.Sora, Kairi, Tidus, Wakka and Selphie...We used to play everyday.Heh, Sora and I were what you would called 'rivals' back then.We would compete over the silliest things."
"Oh really?Like what?"
"Like Kairi.We used to try to impress her in so many ways.We both liked her.But in the end, I guess you could say that Sora won that competition."
"You really like her, huh?"
"Look, Rixa, the way I feel about her, that's never gonna change.But she's in love with Sora and I'm fine with that.As for you, you don't have anything to worry about.Because I'm in love with you."
Rixa blushed instantly and whirled her head around, still trying to cover her face.She couldn't get used to it, no matter how many times he said it.She still doubted that she had the right to feel love, being the embodiment of darkness.She couldn't understand it.What did it mean, the embodiment of darkness?Was she evil then?Could it all be her fault...
"Now change that face.I like it when you smile.You look like something bad just happened to you."
"just shut up!"
"Alright.I'll be quiet then."
"R-Riku...you say you're from Destiny Islands...but...how did you end up here?"
"It's a long story.Like DiZ said, the worlds are separeted from one another.Sora, Kairi and I, we longed to see other worlds.One day, ours was englufed in darkness and we were separated from one another.That's when I met Malificent.I'm not proud of the things I did while i was with her...That was when I gave in to darkness and I nearly lost myself..."
"I'm sorry.I shouldn't have brought this up..."
"No, it's alright.Sometimes, these things happen.And I never would have met you.I may be like this now, because of what i chose, but I wouldn't change anything.You're worth it, Rixa.And I promise, I'll help you recover your past."
"But do I really want to?"
Riku put his arms around her and pulled her close to his chest, letting her calm down.
"It'll be okay.I promise."
