The Caged Bird
"Now what am I supposed to do?DiZ is busy and Riku had things to take care of.They never think about how I feel or if I ever want to do anything.", Rixa groaned.
"Uhm, excuse me, but you're not alone here.", Naminé said, entering the room.
"Oh, Naminé, it's you.", Rixa said quietly.
"They're only doing this to make you understand, Rixa.I myself can't go out, as much as I want to.I had to keep an eye on Sora and put his memories the way they used to be.Even now, I have to stay here, like a caged bird.", she said, sighing.
The two girls stopped speaking for a moment, looking into each other's eyes.Rixa still hadn't adjusted to Naminé's face yet.The similarities between her and Xion were perplexing.Riku had explained that Xion and Naminé both looked like a girl Sora liked, a girl named Kairi.Whenever Riku talked about Sora or his place of birth, Destiny Islands, Rixa longed to remember her past.But as Naminé said, they were liked caged birds who yearned to spread their wings and fly.Naminé sat down and began to draw in her sketchbook while Rixa closed her eyes.She suddenly stood up and walked away, thinking to herself.Naminé sighed as she kept drawing, knowing all too well it was best to leave Rixa be when she was in her antisocial mood.Rixa left the mansion after changing clothes and brushed her hair a bit.She desperately needed some company and maybe she would run into the kids from Twilight Town.She kind of missed them, even if she wasn't that close with them.While walking around the plaza, she thought about Roxas, Axel and Xion.What would it be like now if nothing had happened?If things had stayed the same and Xion hadn't been destroyed?If Roxas had stayed in the Organization instead of going off in a rage and going on a mission to come into contact with Kingdom Hearts?She wondered about it all.
"But mostly, I miss the good old days.I'd give anything to go back to how things were.But as much as I wish it, it'll never happen.If only I could spread my wings and fly away from all this."
She continued on her way, realizing that the kids were nowhere to be found.She fell into a momentary sadness, feeling as alone as she had ever felt.She hated the feeling. I want to fly...
As the feelings coursed through her head, the dog darkling appeared next to her and offered to give her a ride.She got on him and he ran off into the distance.The world passed her by as the dog ran, slowly yet quickly. How can they not see us?
The dog stopped running and let her climb off.She looked around her and noticed that they had somehow arrived back at the mansion.The dog motioned to the gates and signaled her to go back inside.She nodded no and he curled up next to her.She backed away and he understood what she wanted.Opening the portal to his domain, he ran into it at a slow pace, and he disappeared.
"That explains it.The ability to control time...No wonder it felt like we were going fast yet slow at the same time.If only I was as free as him."
