"Axel, I swear, I'm okay.", Rixa whispered, "I'm not gonna faint again."Axel kept looking at her, turning her around and around, making sure she was allright for the next mission."I have to make sure.It's just you and me today.", Axel answered, still turning her around, "Roxas and Xion have one besides ours today, so they'll be joining us later."Rixa blinked and gave him a nasty stare that made him stop turning her around.She sighed and kept walking toward the Grey Area, thinking to herself.When they arrived, Zexion gave her a wave of hello, then went back to reading.Axel noticed and snickered."SO you and Zexion actually talked?He never talks to anyone...Well, nicely anyway.", he said, "He usually insults people and considers beneath him."Rixa ignored him and walked to Zexion to see what he was reading."What are you reading?", she asked, "More stuff on tactics?"Zexion looked at her and stifled to reply."It's nothing really.", he answered, "Nothing that would interest you.I suggest you get going.You have a mission to complete."Ria turned around and headed toward the portal, asking herself why Zexion hesitated to tell her what he was reading about.As she and Axel went in, Zexion sighed and turned the pages of his book."Hey Axel, why didn't Zexion wanna show me what he was reading about?", she asked. "Oh, he's like that.Whenever he reads, he just wants to be left alone." "It's not like I was bothering him...Was I?" "Ask him later.Right now our objective is to find a heartless called a Guardian." "Guardian smardian.I can kick his butt without looking back twice." "I'm sure you can, Lil Sis.Especially after that near beating you gave Roxas..." "It was fight or run away.And I'm not a runner.", Rixa said, walking next to Axel while keeping her eye out for the Guardian, "I'd rather fight and die fighting than run away like a coward." "Be careful what you say Lil Sis.", Axel replied, "I don't want you fading just yet." "Whoa!" All of a sudden, a lazer beam was fired in their direction, Rixa pulling Axel away just in the nick of time.A heartless appeared surrounded by smaller ones, both of the same type."I believe that's the target.", Axel said as he summoned his chakrams, "You ready, Lil Sis?" "As ready as I'll ever be.", Rixa replied, sword in hand, "Let's go!"They both separated and attack the smaller heartless first, carefully avoiding the larger one's lazer beam.As they finished off the last of the smaller ones, they both focused on the larger one."Ok, you attack from behind and I'll go after him from the front.", Axel yelled. "Got it.", Rixa yelled, reappearing behind the heartless.They both slashed at the same time and the heartless was destroyed."Hehe, now that's what I call teamwork.", Axel grinned.Rixa examined the area where the heartless appeared and had another flash of a shadow, staring at her and charging to attack her."NO!" Axel caught her before she fell and looked around."Rixa, is something wrong?" "A shadow...it was going to attack me." "Come on, let's go to the Clock Tower."As they were there, Rixa kept asking herself why she kept having these visions.Axel realized how quiet she was getting and decided to break the silence."Tell me what's on your mind.", Axel said, "What did you see?" "I saw a shadow, preparing to attack me..." "Looks like you're having some memories surface.'' "Memories...surfacing?" "You see Rixa, when a Nobody is born, they're supposed to have memories of their past lives, when they were human.'', Axel explained, "The longer the person that lost their heart is a heartless, the more memories you have of your past life."Rixa started thinking, trying to remember something besides the shadow trying to attack her."But I only remember the shadow...", Rixa answered sadly. "Hey hey, it'll come to you.Roxas is worse off.He doesn't remember anything.", Axel replied, trying to make her feel better. "Well, I do remember something else...A song in my head.", Rixa whispered, barely audible, "I hear it in my dreams." "There you go.And bit by bit, they'll come back.", Axel said happily.Rixa grinned and asked, "What about you?What do you remember?" "Me?Well, more or less, the usual life.Nothing special.", Axel muttered while lying down, "I'm basically the same guy I was."Rixa stared up into the sky."Wondered what my life and I were like before I became a heartless?"They both laughed and waited for Roxas and Xion to arrive.
