Anything I think about writing!
New Moon a movie also?
I read in one of the many magazine articles that the movie version of New Moon is in the works.

Also, it's been said that Rob Pattinson has signed on for 2 more Twilight movies.

As of this writing, New Moon, the second installment to the Twilight series has been rumored up to be filmed for a December 2009 release, probably stemming from a surprisingly wide anticipation of Twilight. The report is unofficial but I presume it likely.

Meyer gets greenlight for Twilight sequel
Posted: Dec 05, 2008 at 1518 hrs IST

The makers of hit film Twilight said that they have given the go-ahead to produce a new movie based on the second book, New Moon, in the popular series of vampire novels by Stephenie Meyer. Twilight, which tells the story of a 17 year-old girl and her love of a teenage vampire, had a blockbuster debut in U.S. and Canadian box-offices the last weekend taking in an estimated $70 million. Summit Entertainment, the film’s producer and distributor, said it would move forward with a second feature film, also to be called New Moon.
In a statement, Meyer said she was “thrilled” to be making another movie. “I don’t think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment,” she said.

"The Golden Compass" Director Chris Weitz May Helm "Twilight" Sequel

Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer
Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - "The Golden Compass" director Chris Weitz is reportedly replacing "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke for the vampire flick's sequel.

As recently announced, Hardwicke will not be joining the production of "New Moon," the follow-up to the smash hit vampire romance film, citing differences in the film's prepping time.

Now, according to Deadline Hollywood Daily's source, Weitz - who also directed "About a Boy" and produced "American Pie" - has been approached to helm the sequel, and possibly the threequel, "Eclipse," if the two films were made back-to-back.

Though nothing has been confirmed for the moment, the website says that Weitz has been considered because Summit Entertainment liked his work on the "Golden Compass."

"Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are both expected to reprise their roles.

Summit Entertainment has tentatively set on a date for the release of "New Moon", Nov. 20, 2009.

This means that whoever the new director is going to be (the one that is going to replace Catherine Hardwicke) they have to be in Vancouver by the 15th of Dec so they can begin 12 weeks of preproduction. This has to happen before mid-March, the start date for the new movie.

There are some bumps in the road even without Hardwicke. A couple sources have reported that the studio doesn't want to use actor Taylor Lautner, who played Jacob. This could be due to his baby faced looks. Though I hope they keep him, he will do Jacob justice. There is also the fact that they need to find a cast of Native-American actors to play Jacob's werewolf pals. The special effects could be a difficult challenge due to a slightly increased budget for the movie. But whatever happens its sure to be an interesting sequel.
