From the Twilight Saga novels to Twilight and New Moon in theatres now comes the Twilight graphic novel. Amid recent Twilight news that the Stephenie Meyer penned saga will be offering Twilight fans a slew of Twilight Saga related products, New Moon fans will now see the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart embodied characters, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, come to Twilight life in graphic novel format.
According to EW.com, the Twilight Saga will now be adapted as a graphic novel published by Yen Press, with Young Kim crafting the artwork and Stephanie Meyer overseeing the creation of the graphic novel.
The new Twilight graphic novel will surely cast more attention to the already booming anime industry. Events like the San Diego Comic-Con have afforded studios the opportunity to promote properties such as Twilight to comic book and graphic novel geeks who otherwise may not even read a comic like Twilight. The appearance of the Twilight Saga sequel New Moon at this year’s Comic-Con faced some backlash from comic book fanboys since the presence of Twilight at Comic-Con came without a relevant comic adaptation.
Is the news of a Twilight graphic novel simply to cover the necessary bases for Twilight and New Moon justification? To a degree, perhaps, but Comic-Con stopped being about comics a long time ago.
