The sketch on the right is a sketch of the biology class with an empty dialogue bubble between the heads of the two famous characters and it doesn’t just look like the actors who play Bella and Edward but seems to embody more of the author, Meyer’s imagination of what the characters would resemble mixed with the features of the film’s actors.
This is how the novel described Edward and Bella in the biology class scene: (Edward) “His dazzling face was friendly; open, a slight smile on his flawless lips. But his eyes were cautious”…(Bella) “I was ivory-skinned …. I had always been slender, but soft somehow, obviously not an athlete…” This sketch of Bella may be more similar to the character in Meyer’s book than the movie’s Kristin Stewart’s more sensual Bella. The sketch of Edward shown is seems to resemble Pattinson, but its not a perfect match. Unfortunately, for Taylor Lautner fans, there is no gravic novel version of Jacob’s character as of yet; however, Entertainment Weekly’s July 17 issue will contain finished illustrations of Edward, Bella and Jacob.
