Book 1-

Chapter 1
Madness
“Beyond the Wild Wood comes the Wild World,” said the Rat.
“And that’s something that doesn’t matter, either to you or
Me. I’ve never been there, and I’m never going, nor you
either, if you’ve got any sense at all.”

She had been walking days now, weeks…maybe. She couldn’t tell.
Alice, a girl of but fifteen had run away.
Not from a home, not from school, not from anyone or anything.
She just, was running away. Maybe, just from It all.
Today though, was the starting of summer.
And she was alone, as always, wearing a white t-shirt,
an un-zipped gray sweater, and baggy blue pants as she was always.
“Loranielle… Alice..?” she chuckled at this, as she was almost forgetting her own name because of her lack of talk.
Shifting her backpack to her other shoulder, she sighed and held her hand to her stomach. “Man... I would do just about anything for a hamburger right n—“ She was then cut off by a loud screeching crash,
“Wh- What was that!?” she was off running now.
But, when she saw what the sound was made by, she didn’t believe her eyes, what she saw was,
A huge monster of some sort, it had a huge bone-mask covering most of its face, and it was looking over and drooling at a family in a car that had crashed into the side of a hill, probably by the monster, she thought.







“Oh my…” she somehow couldn’t find the strength left in her to say anything more. But that was a loud enough sound for even the “monster” to hear, and at that, it turned now, facing her. She was frozen in fear and awe at the creature, and it had laughed at her helplessness.
“Wh—What are you?!” she said dumbly, thinking maybe it could speak her language.
“You souls often call us, “Hollows”…” it said calmly.
“H—Hollows..?” she said it as if it were the key to something locked in her memories, though she shook it off and turned, running towards the car.
The persons in it consisted of a woman, man, and little girl. They were shocked and were totally lost as to what they had hit, and had the strength to make them run into a rocky hill.
‘Hey! You guys!” She beckoned to the passengers, and they looked her way, as if out of a trance now.
The man spoke first, “What the hell did we hit!? Is everyone alright?!”
The woman said, “Yes, honey, but what about the baby!?”
And Alice had already pulled her out, examining her body.
As if looking for a specific scratch or bruise on her.
But everything was normal. Though she still sensed something was wrong with her. Alice then turned around, as she had totally forgotten about the monster that had caused the accident.
It just stood across the street now, glaring at Alice, its red eyes glowing even in the midst of the hot and sunny day.
“I’m sure you know that something is wrong with that girl, and you’re right about it,” it laughed again, and Alice just gripped the girls shoulder and shook her a bit, to wake her from her “trance”.


The girl looked fine, but for some reason, the parents were shouting and crying. And the girl’s eyes were dull, and some type of chain was hanging from her chest, connecting to something in the monster’s hand.
The man was yelling, “Where’s our baby girl!?? Where is she, Miori?!”
The woman replied, crying, “I don’t know, honey! I thought you had her in your sights the whole time!!”
Alice was now confused, why couldn’t they see her, the girl right there, whom she was grasping in her arms tightly now.
“Tch,” the Hollow said, “Guess I better show yah’ now,”
It then opened its big hand, to reveal what looked like a small body.
It was the girl.


“Is she…” Alice began, “No. I’m saving this little one for later. Her soul smells so yummy. But I want to keep her alive for a bit longer. Or are you willing to trade your life for hers?”
Alice staggered back, she knew she had to save the little girl, she probably had a life, and what looked like a caring family, and Alice hadn’t had one of those. But, she still had so many things she wanted to do in life, and she had just arrived in the town to start a new “adventure” as she called them. She thought a moment, while looking at the ground, a shadow overcastting the upper part of her face,
“Fine, but, you must promise you will never hurt this family, nor any other family ever again Hollow-scum!” and she looked back up to it now, her eyes aflame, but still carrying the sense of fear within them.
“As you wish, Alice,” it then put the little girl down, softly on the concrete sidewalk, and wrapped its hand around Alice’s body, then held her high in the air, as if showing off a brand new trophy.
It then looked at her, amusingly, and sent out a deep-pitched ear-piercing roar. Alice was almost glad it was holding her; she knew for sure if she was on the ground right now, she would have flown right over the bars on the side of the hill, towering above major streets below.








“So, this is it…? That was all my life had in plan for me… huh…?”
She looked at the Hollow again, “Well, you just came at the wrong place at the wrong time, is all.” it replied.
She laughed now and said, “I know this is a stupid request but…
Could you perhaps, do me two favors?”
It was a bit dumbstruck by the question, but answered back a “Sure, and what may they be?” “Well, I know you are not of my world, but do you perhaps know what the afterlife is like? And also, do you think you could Uhhm, kill me, uhh, so that it doesn’t hurt…?”
“Hmph. You’ve got yourself another deal, Alice. Let’s just say, that there is more then just one path you can follow… and as for killing you. Of course, I was going to do that anyway. I just need to suck out your soul energy, no pain.”
Alice looked down at the roads below now, wondering if maybe she was the only one in the world that knew about these horrible creatures, and guessed she was after a few moments. She then looked back up at the being and replied, “I—I’m ready now, if you---“Of course, while in the middle of the sentence, she stopped, realizing she was being thrown over the cliff. The monster just laughed at her stupidity and said,
“I wonder who’s next!” her eyes were open as wide as they could now, and she turned around now, facing the street while in mid-air and closed her eyes, bracing for the impact. But there was none, and she didn’t hit the street full-force. In fact, she was caught about five seconds before hitting it, and was being carried by what looked like a man about her age. But this was all she saw and heard, because for now, she had fallen unconscious.



Chapter 2
New thoughts


When Alice awoke, she was in a small room, about the size of her own, when she did have a family. Turning her form, she’d look around, hoping for any sign of the family, to see if they were truly safe or….not.
But then, a man had entered through the door, not the one, if she remember right, that had caught her though.






She’d put her left hand to her head and sigh,
“Ughh, where am I? Am I dead..?”
The man, whom had been carrying a tray that had held what, looked like
A breakfast meal, now laughed at her statement.
Alice just looked at the man, “H-Huh, what’s so funny?”
After she’d ask that, the man put the tray down on a small desk next to her, then replied, “Oh, It’s nothing really… anyways, you’re probably starving. I’ll---we’ll tell you what’s going on after you eat, Miss.”
Putting her hand to her stomach, she did realize now she was starving.
She hadn’t eaten in two and a half days now.
“Yeah, okay, fine.”
Was all she could say, before digging into the food like a bull chasing someone wearing the color red.


After she had finished eating, the tray was taken away by the man, whom had just been watching her the whole time.
Coming back he asked, “Do you have the strength to walk yet?”
She’d make a fist, and “punch” it against her chest.
“Course I do!”
With that, she slipped out of the comfy bed she was in, and followed the man out. Then remembered something,
“Ah. I’ve forgotten to ask, so I’m “Alice Loranielle”, what’s your name?”
He’d just look over his shoulder a bit, and reply,
“Hanzo Hattori”, then turned back ahead.
“Th—That’s a really cool name sir!”
Slipping his hands into his jean pockets, he’d just slightly nod and move on.










Chapter 3
Newcomer?

As they had reached their destination by walking down humongous hallways, and through a couple doors, Hanzo had finally opened one that was filled with other people.
And as soon as it had opened, the small conversations they were having grew silent, and they’d just stare at Alice.
They’d quickly turn to each other then, nod their heads, and start to… laugh?
Alice looked around at the faces, confused. “Uh-Uhh, H-Hi everyone. My name is---“
“Alice Loranielle, right?”
The man, who had said that at the other side of the room, looking through a window, turned his form now towards Alice.
She’d just stare, her right hand scratching the back of her head.
“Uhm…Yeah. How did you know? The small giggles everyone once had turned into a bursting of laughter. Only a few hadn’t laughed from the start though.
One woman, whom looked about the same age as her, got up then,
holding her stomach to avoid laughing harder.
“Yeah, we know ‘cuz you’re a royal heir! But anyways, nice to meet ‘cha, my name’s Miroru Riri!” Riri would then disappear from sight, and then reappear seconds later, right in front of Alice, extending her fair-skinned hand. Alice had appeared to be dumbstruck then, but shook the hand the Riri had offered slightly.
“Sooo, everyone! Ya’ need to introduce yourselves too ya’ know!”
Almost in head count, everyone had passed a slight wave to Alice, with a small comment about themselves.


“Book” 1. END.

I've tried to clear it of all mistakes.
