They arrived at the town center, Nick still flustered by her quip.
The hall glowed with a warm feeling of rustic beauty. Several posters noting the Town's founding were conspicously missing.
Libra acted as she ussually did at parties, going through the motions of introducing herself to 'important' people, drinking too much punch, and avoiding the dance floor like a horrible plague. Until Nick asked her to dance.
"I can't dance, Nick."She responded, he pretended not to hear her over the music and pulled her onto the dance floor.Libra was acctually not a bad dancer but that was the problem, when she danced everyone noticed her.
She did'nt recognize the music but managed to learn the rhythm quickly. As she had thought all eyes were on her.
Suddenly a massive cracking sound filled the hall and the party turned into a riot.A two thousand pound wooden rafter crashed into the crowd below.Libra grabbed Nick's arm and jostled her way to the nearest wall, getting them both clear as the crowd ran for the door.In a few minutes the crowd had cleared, for the most part and Libra ran to see what had happened.
