"I heard the whole ball room tried ta fall on ya, 'that true?"Trevor added.
"Not quite, a beam fell."She answered
"You best watch out Miz Lorner.Don't you know books is bad luck?"The boy continued, oblivious to her disinterest.
She did'nt respond, instead she went back to pumping gas, wondering howa boy given a great education could grow to be so ignorant as to think of books as being bad luck.She was somewhat releived to hear their sedan drive away.
