Even if he may need it,
You can’t force a horse to drink
If you try, it’ll choke and die
Because you pushed it off the brink
That’s what Paul taught me.
To feel safe is a gift,
An importance on occasion
Without it, there would be a great rift
Without comfort’s persuasion.
That’s what Paul taught me.
Love is pure, but love is a choice
Love isn’t made without care
Until you truly love yourself
To love others would be unfair
That’s what Paul taught me.
Paul is a man of great virtue,
Kindness was his key
He gave me great words of wisdom,
To love was his philosophy
And though we may never meet again,
And maybe I’m not really free
But despite all this, I must admit
I will never forget what Paul taught me
