• I find myself having to take a step back
    Because even if some of us are
    seniors or freshman,
    adults and teenagers,
    this is something that needs to be brought up.
    It's not gun control,
    I don't want to talk politics.
    Rather I want to take a moment,
    for all of us to take a moment,
    to remember the children.

    Remember those who won't be able to
    wake up Christmas morning to presents under the tree
    or light a candle for Hanukkah.
    Mourn them because that's who should be remembered,
    not the killers.

    And if it breaks your heart like it breaks mine,
    think of the children.
    hose who are scarred from this event,
    who will be plagued by nightmares of lost best friends forever
    and secrets that will never be whispered;
    otes never written.

    Think of the children,
    because when tragedies like this happen I wonder who is.
    Please, don't fight tonight.
    Hug your child, your friend, your family.
    Be happy that tonight they rest safe in their beds.
    Tomorrow when you wake up,
    Remember the children.
    Then fight for the children.
