Deep in the night
It is said that there are things
That crawl,
crawl,
crawl.
Guising as witches, cats, werewolves,
bloodsuckers, undead, and monsters alike
It could be said of these four fiends
that they believe they don't have reason
To scream,
scream,
scream.
They beg to be proven wrong.
They wander.
They whisper.
They follow the leader.
They follow their leader
Who leads with venomous candied apples
And the night of the All Hallows' Eve's darkness creeps to their face;
Noticing this, the followers begin to run,
run,
run.
Trip.
Fall.
Snap.
They are swallowed by a creature's maw,
maw,
maw.

Description:
I was in a sort of poetic mood when someone suggested that I should write a poem about Halloween. of course everyone is doing that around this time of the year but it sparked an idea anyway.
The formatting of the poem with the indentions of the stanzas was sadly lost in the transfer from WordPad to Gaia. - Date: 10/07/2012
