Sleepy Hollow
The color red
Is artfully dead
In this sorrowful life
*
But we all knew
That death suit you
You spirit in the night
*
Cascading black
And ice white plains
And twin ponds of blue
*
Sunshine sweet
With a bitter streak
Begin her life anew
*
While determining the fate
Of those we meet
By designing their design
*
We often do
Seem to miss
The glaring “Wrong Way” sign
*
So as we travel backwards
To madness we must go
We realize that death is warm
And life is cold as snow
*
A story of a story told
a fairytale long ago
Says that everybody, in the end
Must learn to lie six feet low
