-
Dangled legs from crab apple tree,
a ground scattered with the fallen warriors.
Remember blue siding and granite steps.
A deep dark cellar of nicotine,
ugly sun spotted tile always.
Mid day quiet shade like a four pm day 'in'.
Remember tiny green stand, and bright blue light.
I wish I had known.
Ingleside barbwire barrier.
These stop signs mean go,
I mean go.
Evening won't let it slide.
Franklin is the same color as the car,
that drove away yesterday.
And I know.
That fist wasn't for me.
Not of revolutionary rhetoric,
or the sound of a dictator's gloves.
So do me a favor.
Remember crab apples,
over all else.
