-
it was a desolate plane
with thick cloying mist
in the sky my life was
unwinding like photoplay
to the north was my visage
aging with the memories
that pass through it
i noted times of hardship
and some joyous times
i witnessed how formidable
times became more arduous
with the inclusion
of joyous memories
and good times seemed
uneffected by
even my worst memories
i turned from the scene
and kept walking
recollection heavy
face decrepit
i realised
that had i never known
happiness
i would have never known
true anguish
