• I’m not a princess
    I’m just a girl

    I don’t wear ball gowns
    Just jeans and a shirt

    I’m not amazing and perfect
    I have doubts and faults

    My hair is never perfect
    It’s always out of place

I don’t have a carriage or flying carpet
    I don’t even have a car

I don’t run from witches or dragons
I face bullies and lots of schoolwork

    Glass slippers are broken
    So sneakers work just fine

If I had a musical number every ten seconds
I’d totally sing out of tune

    I’m not a pretty face
    Not a beauty or royalty

I have a heart and brain
    And I’m wicked with pen

So to all you princes out there
Who keeps chasing an impossible dream

I may not be a princess
    But I’m glad I’m me
