Twisting
Twirling
Ballerina is whirling
atop the gilded, white leather case
Twisting
Twirling
Flag is unfurling
As she wins first prize
takes first place
Dancing and Laughing
Wild free and prancing
Learns beauty is wealth
at too young an age
Twisting
Twirling
Disco Ball mirroring
Her haunted memories
as gray as her face
Twisted and
Twirling
Ballerina is whirling
How quickly she falls
from the pedestals base
Twisting
Twirling
Blood pumping fists churning
As that final fragile smile
fades from her face
Chasing and earning
Romances with surly
Men who don't love her
each worse than the other
from one to another
Hope finally fades
Hunted and
Cunning
Now she is running
From anyone who says
she is worth being saved
Twisting
Twirling
Flag is unfurling
From the pole
looking down on her grave.
