In the yard there grew a tree,
Massive and great with
Hefty branches that stretched
tab Up and up and up
For a hundred years.
On those branches were
A million leaves, with veins
That soaked the sun and
tab grew and grew and grew
for a hundred years.
The seasons came and changed
The tree, caused the leaves to go
Green to gold to brown to gone
tab Over and over and over
For a hundred years.
Until one day the tree fell down,
Fell
tab Down and down and down
As the branches
tab Snapped and snapped and snapped
And the leaves turned
tab Brown and brown and brown
For the tree had been rotting
tab From the inside out
tab tab For a hundred years.
