• The cool wind blows fingers through my hair,
I close my eyes and see your face, and it feels like you're there.
I look to the sky to see the stars staring down on me,
But in my thoughts your eyes are all that I can see.

The trembling of the trees, dancing in the gentle breeze,
Reminds me of dancing with you and I’m brought down to my knees,
So many memories rush through my head,
And I find myself wishing it were me that was taken instead.

The wind screams of my loss and the rain tells of my tears,
No longer am I afraid of dying, my heart throws out all fears,
because the thought of not being with you and living life alone,
Tears at my soul and chills me to the bone.

The birds reflect my sorrow, I can hear their mournful cry,
Through the trees it echoes, a never-ending sigh.
I curse the heavens above, for stealing you away,
You belonged with me only… and with me you should’ve stayed.
