If you only knew the things that ran through my mind.

If you only knew the life you see is half a lie.

If only you knew the pain your words put me through.

If you only knew the things I’ve been through.

If you only knew the world through my eyes.

If you only knew the real me.

If you only knew the person I truly am.

If you knew the words you say scared me into hiding,

would you cease to say them?

If you understood the real me,

would you hate me for who I was?

If you could see the world through my eyes,

would it change your view on life?

If you understood the pain you sometimes cause,

would you be upset when I turned away?

All I can sit and do is think, “What If?”

It’ll be all I ever do,
